The scent of freshly baked cookies floated through the house, mingling with the smell of hot piping tea. The girl's eyes widened and she turned to the pink haired male beside her. He offered her a light smile and invited her to sit on the couch, which she did.
"Shin has been baking a lot lately..." Mostly to cope with the feelings eating him from the inside out. Uma scratched his head, omitting this last part. He didn't want to make the girl uncomfortable or more guilty than she probably felt already.
But (Y/n) wasn't an idiot and Uma didn't have to explain the situation for her to catch on. She looked down, fidgeting with her fingers. The pink haired male cursed himself. Why did he have to go and tell her this ? He knew this would probably make things awkward.
He stood before her a moment, none of them talking. He scratched the back of his head, heaving a quiet sigh. "Do you want something to drink or eat ? I can make-"
"(Y/n) ?"
The female stiffened at the sound of the familiar voice, her eyes falling on the black haired make who had just passed his head out of the kitchen, an apron on and eyes wide as he stared at her. A shy smile came upon his lips and he slowly approached her, hands fidgeting at his sides and palms sweaty, his heart leaping in his chest.
This was the first time he saw her ever since... Their misunderstanding. Which he had every intention of solving ! She was as beautiful as ever and an admirative sigh fell from his lips, his eyes taking in every detail or new features of hers.
"Hello there." She greeted back, waving her hand and offering him a friendly smile. Her eyes locked with his, eyebags clear on his pale skin and hair ruffled, unlike his usually soft looking locks. She averted her eyes then, guilt threatening to swallow her whole on the spot. It was because of her he was in such a state. She could tell herself that this was his natural and usual Saturday morning look all she wanted but the dark circles on his features couldn't fool anyone. He had spent some sleepless nights apparently.
The pink haired male looked between the two, silently and gauging the situation. As much as he wanted to spend some alone time with her she'd probably like some alone time with the black haired male to sort things out. And judging by Shin's attitude a few nights ago it was clear he hadn't given up on her. The male's hands balled into fists at the thought. Shin's romanticism had never been a problem but right now it irked him, made his blood boil and fingers twitch. Couldn't he take a hint ? (Y/n) didn't want him. But well, she'd have to tell him herself. And to give her this opportunity he slowly and silently stepped out of the living room, leaving the two to their own device.
The black haired male gently sat down beside her, a loving smile on his lips. He had missed her. So much so that he thought he might die without a sign of her. Had she come to see him ? Had she finally realised that they were made for each other ? Was she here to confess to him ? Oh he wasn't ready for that, his heart would give out if she did !
"What brings you here ?" He asked hopefully.
(Y/n) looked up at the male, putting on a soft smile. "I came here to see Chuichi." She said honestly, not saying anything more. Not that she didn't want to, she simply didn't know what to say or how to act, afraid of rubbing salt in the wound. She didn't know much about love but she was aware that in most cases a heart break wasn't done with in but a week and a half.
The boy visibly deflated, struggling to keep on his smile, an icy bucket of water having just been dropped on his warm hopes of a confession. "Oh-Oh... Why ? Did he do something ?" He quietly asked, not really trusting his voice to remain steady in the moment.
"That's what I want to ask him." The female answered calmly. She thought back on her conversation with Haku and a chill ran up and down her spine. What would she do if he confessed to it ? If he looked her straight in the eyes and told her he had indeed threatened her friend, if he told her he had feelings for her ?
