Your POV.

Walking down the street as it was pretty late with a few things in my hands, doc and Marty in tow. We had gotten the parts that were needed for the DeLorean. Walking back into the alley and Doc grabbed the tools and whatever else be needed, be got to work. While I watched and took mental notes as I learned about what he was doing.

I had a lot of respect for doc and I wish he could have been my mentor while I was first starting to get interested in science. We're from two different times but there's a connection that I feel with him when he's around, like he understands being secluded with studies.

Handing him a wrench he looked at it before he rose a brow. "(y/n)..." He started as I turned to look at him. "I asked for 3/4 this is 5/8." Be said. I nodded gently and traded the two out and gave him the proper one.

Watching him work some more I thought of my own time machine. I knew how to fix it, the only problem was fixing what I came here for. Though the thing is, that if I don't go back to my time and go find a different one to stay in, one where I actually belong, I wouldn't have to fix my problem now would I?

Hearing the car rev up as it was started and ready to go I looked up at doc who smiled down at me, his face with a bit of engine grease on it. Marty leaned against the car not far from us and gave me a small wave when I looked at him.

"I guess this is goodbye." I said gently. Doc and Marty shared a look before nodding. Marty came over first and hugged me before he messed up my hair. "See you later kid, thanks for the help." He said and I nodded gently. He got into the car as I watched the gale wing open up and then close.

Looking at doc as he stood there for a moment he shuffled on his feet. "We could try and visit. Though I wouldn't know where you live." He said. Looking at him I shrugged gently and smiled a little. "We'll meet again in time doc, don't worry "

He nodded gently and walked over before giving me a hug and kissing my forehead gently. Saying goodbye as I watched them leave with the roar of the DeLorean running before it flew off into the sky. Hearing the flash that sounded like thunder again. I stood there for a second in the silence before I went back to the hotel.

Doc's POV

Getting back to our time and my garage I sighed gently. Looking around as we got into the garage I furrowed my brows. We were home, but yet something felt odd. Looking around as Marty was fine and everything was in order I hummed gently.

Catching Marty's attention I turned as he looked at me. He rose a brow before he saw the clock and ran off to get home. Leaning on a chair and crossing my arms I looked around as I thought.

What felt so different? We were home and in our own time like we were supposed to be, so everything should be fine. So why do I feel like something is missing? Like it's almost empty?

Scratching the little bit of whiskers that were coming in on my chin I laid on my bed. Staring at the ceiling for a bit with my arms behind my head as I blinked slowly, lost in my thoughts. Jumping up I knew what was missing, it was (y/n). I've never before met someone who was as fascinated with science as I was and yet, I left her behind where I met her. Though something was off about how she took the DeLorean and it bring a time machine in stride a little too well.

Getting up and grabbing the keys I left in the DeLorean and went to the same time that we were just at. Once I got to the past and stashed the car for a bit, I started walking around to see if I could spot her.

Your POV

Looking around as I walked through the court yard I thought I caught a glimpse of a familiar Hawaiian shirt. Stopping to look in the area I thought I saw it in, I shook my head and continued walking as I ignored it and thought I was seeing things.

Feeling my heart ping in my chest a little I sighed gently and put my hand on my chest. I was uneasy ever since Marty and doc left for their own time. There was something weird about the new feeling. I knew they were home but I didn't like something about it.

You're seeing things that aren't there. They would never want you to be with them, and no one does. Why would you try? You should just give up on fixing what's been going on and accepting defeat.

Shaking my head I felt a hand grab my arm. Looking up to see the crazy white hair and brown eyes from before I smiled and hugged him. It was doc. "What are you doing here? And where's Marty, is he okay?" I asked and he nodded and hushed me.

"Everything's fine, but there's something missing " I rose a brow as I looked at him, his hands were now on my shoulders.

"What do you mean 'somethings missing?'* I asked and he hummed gently. "The only thing that's missing from my time is you, when I got home something felt odd and it was because I was without you. I feel like you complete me and you understand all the things about science that we both love. I've never met someone that I've had a strong connection with in my life and I want you to come back with me. I'll teach you all I know."

Blinking in shock for a moment I looked at him. Was this really true, was he going to take me with him and teach me what I wanted? To give me a real home that I belong in? After a bit of time I nodded and I followed him towards where the DeLorean was stashed. I decided that I would have to tell him about me.

"There's something I should tell you."8 said and he nodded gently as he listened while he drove. Taking a breath I sighed a bit.

"I only gave you my first name when we met for a reason, Im actually from the future, but not your future. I'm from a bit farther in the future than you are. In the 2000s. When I saw the DeLorean and I wasn't phased j was sure you would catch me, but when you didn't I was relieved. I wanted to help and I originally came here to fix a pro lem that I had but when those plans fell through I heard you and Marty get here in that alley. I would have told you sooner but I wasn't sure on your reaction "

Finishing what I said he reached over and out a hand on mine. Smiling a little as he thought of his works he gave a small hum. "Don't worry about any of that now, it's all in the past, quite literally too, so we can figure it all out in time."
