"when I woke up, I felt myself brimming with creativity and was dying to write you a poem."

the atmosphere on wuwang hill was eerie and scary as always. the thick fog concealed your sight and walking on the path was demanding.

as someone who wasn't easily scared, you fought your way through the woods without a problem, still looking for the little wood hut you were supposed to meet up in with your friend.

just occasionaly stabbing one or two hilichurls and collecting flowers on the road.

it has been quite some time since you've last seen her, your bubbly friend who never seemed to run out of energy. but that's exactly what made her special and fun to be around with.

after walking another while you finally saw the outlines of a building in the distance. fortunately you had a little lamp with you or else you would've been completely lost in the fog. carefully you made your way there, wondering why out of all places you had to meet up here.

standing in front of the hut, you looked around looking for your friend who was nowhere to be seen. you mentally prepared yourself since she always liked to scare others but she never got you even once.

because of that, she officially made it her goal to frighten you atleast once in her life, pulling pranks on you or trying jumpscares, but none of the worked.

while you stood there, waiting for hu tao, a yellow butterfly flew towards your figure. its elegant and bright wings flapping in the air in a gorgeous way and finally landing on your nose.

it surprised you to see the usual timid creature landing on you, not that you complained. everything was peaceful, quiet and you just enjoyed the sounds of your surroundings.

it was too peaceful though.

"BOOH!"

a loud female voice ringed through the forest, scaring the butterfly which flew away quickly.

you on the other side didn't even flinch, her footsteps were too loud and hurried so you predicted her arrival.

you turned around and faced the dark brown haired girl to inspect her carefully. unordinary ruby eyes with the shape of a flower stared right back into yours. hers full with joy and happiness, while yours reflected love and adoration for her.

"good evening to you too, hu tao.", you greeted her politely sending the female a smile.

she only huffed and pouted like a child turning her face away from you, puffing out her adorable cheeks. "man, you didn't even blink! how am i supposed to scare you?"

you only chuckled and grabbed her chin gently with your hand, making her face you again. hu taos eyes widend at your actions and a light blush formed on her fair skin, still she adverted her eyes away from you.

it only fueled your amusement seeing here act like a child but little did the funeral parlor director know that this made your heart race like crazy.

you let go of her face after a while, disappointment hidden in her eyes. she thought you would return her feelings, but it didn't seem like it.

you noticed mood her shifting and glanced at the girl who watched two golden butterflies dancing in the moonlight together. it was beautiful,  breathtaking.

no-

she was beautiful. you stared at her until she spoke up, without looking back at you.

"Flame butterflies flutter like falling plum petals, in a transient dream a fragrance settles.

The wind rises, the clouds drift, the impermanence of life is a gift.

The flowers bloom, the mountains still, and with it the truth reveals."

her voice was smooth and quiet, not loud and cheerful like usually.

it was like a scene in a movie, or a book. the full moon shone its light upon you both. the two butterflies dancing graciously and you taking small steps towards hu tao.

as she felt you approaching, the director turned around and looked up to you.

ruby eyes widend as you planted a soft kiss on her lips. something she had dreamed of many times already.

before you could pull away again, she wrapped her arms around your neck and deepend the kiss and answered passionately.

you both needed to part after a while due to the lack of oxygen, staring lovingly into eachothers eyes.

"happy birthday, my butterfly."
