Haunting in Heidi's Woods (A Scripted Movie)

Scene 4

Zariella: Oh my gosh.

Kat: Well that’s just great! Life sucks, now doesn’t it?

Alaina (from ground, wiping eyes): Stop arguing! And Kat, calm down, we were all her friends.

Kat (matter-of-factly): Just because you were almost killed, doesn’t give you the right to yell at me.

Alaina: I wasn’t yelling. But if you keep terrorizing us for every little thing we say, I will start. (stands up and walks to Bonnie who is fighting tears. Puts arm around her shoulder)

Zariella: Kat, if I were you, I would stop talking about now. Alaina is not someone to mess with, considering she would have been murdered if it weren’t for Cassandra.

Kat: If it weren’t for Alaina being such a wimp, Cassandra would still be here!

Zariella: Are you saying you’d rather have Alaina dead than Cassandra!?

Kat: No, not necessarily.

Zariella: You witch!

Kat: Fine, I don’t have to talk to you if you don’t want me to.

Zariella: I never-

Kat: We’re done with this conversation. Let’s move on.

Zariella (sourly): Fine.

Carina: Which way do we go?

Bonnie (perks up and shrugs out of Alaina’s grasp): Everyway!

Alaina: I think we came from that way… (points toward opposite way they entered from)

Carina: Well… let’s go. It’s too late for this; we should really be sleeping, now. (girls follow the direction Alaina pointed in)

Girls walk in silence for a few seconds, all looking depressed. Alaina walks next to Bonnie, who is starting to look happy again. They are behind Kat who is walking alone behind Zariella, who is walking sort of close to Carina.

Bonnie (in a loud, scared voice): Guys! This place doesn’t look familiar!

Kat: Shhh. We don’t want the ghost to find us again!

Alaina (in a terrified voice and expression): A-a-again?

Kat: She said she was coming back, didn’t she?

Alaina: O-oh yeah…

Bonnie (whispers obnoxiously loud): I think we should be carefuuuul.

All girls speak in hushed voices from here on.

Kat: Once again, no dip, Sherlock.

Bonnie sticks out her tongue at Kat. Kat does the same to Bonnie.

Carina: I don’t feel so good, guys… Maybe we should walk closer together.

Alaina: I second that! (grabs onto Bonnie’s arm and runs more forward, grabbing Kat’s arm She then joins the front line, still holding onto Kat and Bonnie.)

Kat: Well okay then…

Carina (looking backwards with pure terror glistening in her eyes): OH MY GOSH GUYS! (screams and falls to the ground)

Other girls gasp and gather around her on the ground. Alaina drops to her knees and tries to find out what is wrong, but Carina seems to have just fainted.

Kat: What’s wrong with her? What happened?

Ghost (this is what Carina had been staring at before she fainted): I happened.

All girls, except Carina (who is still in a faint), gasp, again.

Ghost: I have forced the elements of my power upon this young maiden. She has passed out. All her energy is being drained from her slowly, as it has been since the first time I saw her. Now, she is much too tired to be awake and she is just simply asleep. But there is no way to stop it now. I will keep draining her energy for myself until she dies. The only way to stop the process would be to stop me and we know that shan’t happen. And then you would have to go through the long process of reversing it. She would sleep though many many days and nights, but you would still have to keep her nourished. A difficult task to accomplish, renewing energy. Not that any of you will ever get the chance to try. (smiles evilly)

Kat: YOU FOUL BEAST! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO CASSANDRA?

Ghost: Cassandra… hmm I don’t seem to remember a Cassandra.

Kat: That first girl you stole from us. That’s Cassandra.

Ghost (hesitates as first as though she doesn’t know to say, then nonchalantly): Oh yes, I chopped her up with an ax. It was rather enjoyable actually.

Kat: NOOOOOOOO!

Bonnie (moves next to Kat and puts an arm around her): It’s okay, cuz.

Kat: No! It’s not! Bonnie, you need to learn that life isn’t one big happy mess! Nothing is okay right now! Cassandra is dead and Carina is soon to be! Just SHUT UP!

Bonnie starts to cry, rather loudly.

Ghost: Well, now that your tiny dreams are being crushed, I think I’ll seize my prey and leave.

Ghost moves forward and snatches the unconscious Carina from the ground. Kat and Bonnie are too busy arguing to notice and Alaina is too scared to say anything. Zariella moves forward to help, but ghost motions for her to move back. Zariella follows what the hand gesture told her to do because of ghost’s magical force.

Ghost:Girls, say “bye, Carina.”

Kat and Bonnie suddenly realize what’s happening and run over towards ghost. Zariella slowly follows. Alaina stays kneeling on the ground, too shocked and scared to follow.

Ghost: You fools! It would be worthless to save her now! (raises hand that is not holding Carina and the girls are all forced to move back)

Bonnie: Oh no!

Kat: Do something, Bonnie!

Bonnie: I’m in the same situation as you, dumbfart!

Kat: Bonnie! Calm your language!

Bonnie: Sorry, sorry..

Ghost: Bye… (smiles evilly) …for now. (evilly laughs)

All girls: NO! (ghost disappears with Carina)

Alaina: And now we’ve lost my best friend and Kat’s best friend. Great party, ehh?

Kat: How could you joke about this? That’s a terrible thing to say.

Alaina: Well, I don’t think she’ll actually die. I don’t think she’s even dead, yet.

Camera pans out of scene.
