"I don't know why I did it," Connor seemed confused by his own actions, not fully understanding emotion which must've been the cause for them. He continued to speak, sounding the most genuine I'd ever heard since we met.

"I know it hasn't always been easy, but I want you both to know I really appreciated working with you."

"That's not just my social relations program talking, I-I really mean that. At least, I think I do," I caught sight of a small smile on Connor's face as he thought about it. He genuinely did enjoy working with us it seemed. I smiled back and came and sat beside him, sneakily placing my hand on top of his. Hank just looked at Connor then at me and gave a small nod. Something behind us however, caught his eye.
"Well, well, here comes Perkins, that motherfucker... Sure don't waste any time at the FBI," Hank pointed out and I groaned at the thought of that arrogant asshole in the station. I rolled my eyes and Connor spoke up, even more determined this time.
"We can't give up," He looked frantically between me and Hank and the determination in his voice grew, "I know the answer is in the evidence we collected. If Perkins takes it, it's all over."
"We have no choice Connor," I sighed.
"You heard Fowler, we're off the case," Hank shook his head in agreeance.
"You've got to help me, Lieutenant, Detective. I need more time so I can find a lead in the evidence we collected. I know the solution is in there!" Connor stood up from the desk. He was eager to solve the case. I don't think he wanted to return to Cyberlife permanently, to be dismantled. I fiddled with my hands at the thought of it and it made me feel sick and sad again.
"Listen, Connor-" Hank began.
"If I don't solve this case, Cyberlife will destroy me. Five minutes, it's all I ask," Connor interrupted him and tried his hardest to convince Hank. Was he genuinely scared to be destroyed or deactivated? I sure as hell was. Hank looked at me, then back at Connor before sighing in defeat. He stood up and gestured for me to join him.
"Key to the basement is on my desk. Get a move on! We can't distract them forever," Hank told him quietly, and we walked away from our desks towards Perkins. I spotted Fowler get up from his desk and start to leave his office. Well, looks like we're both getting a disciplinary for whatever happens. As we got closer to Perkins, Hank called out to him.
"Perkins! You fucking cocksucker!" He yelled as he punched him square in the nose, knocking him to the floor. He groaned and coughed slightly, and I just chuckled.
"Serves you right asshole," I crossed my arms and watched while Hank lifted him off the floor and pinned him to the wall.
"Stop it lieutenant!" An officer called out, approaching us from the main entrance. I glanced behind us briefly to see that Connor had disappeared. Good. He needed to hurry and find what he needed.
"Fuck off! Leave me alone! Give me another shot at that little prick!" Hank seethed as the two officers that'd approached us pulled him away from Perkins. While they dealt with Hank, I gave Perkins a cheeky elbow to the stomach as I walked past to stand over with Hank. He groaned and now held both his stomach and his nose.
"That's gonna cost you both your badges, you lunatics!" Perkins threatened. Was he lying? Probably not. Did we care? Nope. Suddenly, Hank pushed past the officers and pinned Perkins against the wall again.
