You woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside of the window, an unfamiliar sound to wake up to for you but you remembered what happened the night before...why weren't you outside? You sat up and fixed your messy hair, you saw the Captain, still sleeping soundly and his hand intwined with yours. You slowly took your hand away from his and stood up from his bed.
You walked out of his room and made your way down the stairs. You walked into the kitchen to see Alison already sitting there eating her cereal surrounded by Mary, Kitty, Julian and Robin.
"Morning, Y/N. How'd you sleep?" She asked, you wished her a good morning in return.
"It was wonderful, thank you. Where are the others?" You winked, she immediately understood.
"Probably upstairs." She replied, smirking at you. You thanked her and skipped happily upstairs.
"Morning, Y/N." Thomas said, some anger from the night before still present. You ignored him and continued to walk up the stairs and going back into Captains room.
"Morning, Captain. How was your sleep?" You asked politely.
"Jolly good, wonderful actually." He thought of the way you cuddled up to him in the night and how he enjoyed it. It was scandalous that he enjoyed your presence that much.
"Alison knows about our little plan. So it's just us today." You told him excitedly, he nodded and tried his hardest not to smile at you. "Come on, Sir." You called before making your way to the living room.
"Y/N, where is everyone?" He asked, passing Julian on the stairs. You shrugged with a serious face.
"No idea, probably playing some joke on us again." You convinced Julian that you couldn't see him. He waved in front of you and called your name but you just didn't acknowledge him. You both walked into the kitchen together.
"Oh here they are, prancing about the house!" Thomas exclaimed as you stood by the door, you didn't even look at him, you just stared at the floor.
"So, what happened last night, you two?" Alison asked, you froze and looked at Captain who coughed nervously.
"What are you talking about, Alison?" He croaked, bouncing on his touch nervously.
"Last night. When you came in and Y/N was in your arms like a sleeping bride, well groom." Kitty interrupted, you didn't look at her but you heard her, you were embarrassed to say the least.
"You were being very loud outside last night, laughing." She explained, your heartbeat started to raise.
"Couldn't sleep. Went outside." You replied quickly. "Maybe this is a bad idea." You whispered to Captain, he just nodded quickly.
"I saws them stargazing withs each other." Mary told Alison. You panicked slightly.
"Me saw them holdi-" Robin said before Captain really panicked.
"Right, yes, we get it." He broke, embarrassed. "Well. With you all taking him away from me yesterday, I think I had the right to have some quality time with my dearest friend." He protected himself. The insinuation that you were his made your heart flutter.
"...Do you want to play some chess, Robin?" You faked a smile for him, he happily grunted and walked into the living room. You sat with him at the table.
"Oh, you can see us now, can you?" Julian asked furiously.
"Captain, can I talk to you?" Alison asked, he nodded. Alison nodded at the corridor and he quickly scurried towards her.
"What is it, Alison?" He asked quietly, cramped up near her, begging that she doesn't go through him.
"Do you love him?"
His heart sank. This was the question that haunted his mind also, making him insane with fear. He blinked quickly, evidence of his answer but still not answering. He thought of you, your smile, your laugh, your hair, your skin against his that whole night, cuddled up against him.
"As a friend, of course." He answered, lying for his own good. The thoughts couldn't get to him, they shouldn't get him but they did. He shouldn't fall in love with a soldier, it was wrong.
"But do you...love him?" She questioned once more, nodding in reassurance. The silence spoke a thousand words in that moment, making everything clear to her, he nodded. She smiled at him and wished she could give him a hug.
"I won at chess against Robin!" You exclaimed, Robin and Julian were the undefeated champions at chess, until now. "What's going on?" You asked, they both looked at you with a fake smile.
"Well done, Y/N. I'll have to beat you next." He ruffled your hair which made you smile and melt, you happily stared into his eyes.
"Y/N, the people downstairs have finished if you want to go down there." Alison told you, you heard but didn't acknowledge it. "Y/N?"
"Huh? Yes, of course...maybe later." You watched the Captain walk away with perfect posture and went to talk to Kitty. Maybe, just maybe...no, of course not.
