You couldn't peel your eyes away from the fight. It's gut wrenching to stay back and watch the human Finn and Ice Finn attack each other meanwhile the dog fights back his corrupted self. They told you it's too dangerous for you to join them, and they're right, but that doesn't stop the ever-growing frustration inside you. Finn and Jake were soon overwhelmed, the zombie like dog grabbed hold of Jake and slammed him face first into the ground, letting his legs wiggle sporadically. Finn wasn't doing so good either, a group of zombie people tackled over him and kept him pinned to the ground with Ice Finn dangerously floating over him.

The snow crumbled under your fingertips, clenching your jaw together. You're not a hero, but you're still impulsive as ever.

"Stop!" you come out of your hiding spot, rushing to the two Finns. "Please stop this already, I'm begging you Finn." you plead, spreading your arms wide for you to keep him separated from the human Finn. You're close enough to see yourself reflected on his gorgeous cold eyes, he's hesitant to get pass you, lowering his magic hands.

"Princess I'm doing what's best for everyone." he reasoned, but you shook your head in denial. "Everyone but me!" you try to snap him out of it.

The lich turned his attention to you, or more specifically the book you're carrying on your back. He extended a clawed arm and lifted you up with a gasp, before harshly dropping you to the ground as he grabbed the enchiridion. "Finally." the lich applaud himself. Ice Finn didn't take this too kindly, separating himself from human Finn to face the possessed dog.

"Hey what's the deal, that wasn't very nice!" Ice Finn started, but the lich brushed him off as he headed to the platform in middle of the pool of acid. "Apologize to (y/n) now." he ordered.

"Get out of my way boy." the lich pushed Ice Finn aside, only fueling his anger.

You take advantage of the distraction by knocking the zombies off of Human Finn, helping him to his feet as he rushes to the strange device in his backpack. Meanwhile your mouth is left a gap when you saw Ice Finn blast his magic at the Lich's back, interrupting whatever spell he's performing. "I. Said. Apologize." Ice Finn repeated. The lich was getting sick and tired from the ice boy, judging by the way his hands tremble and his tone shifts to annoyance.

"Why would I have to? They delivered the book, they're useless to me now-"

A loud smack filled the air as Ice Finn didn't use his magic but instead straight up punches the side of the Lich's decomposed face, his cold pale fist burning in red after scraping against bone. "No one insults my beloved that way." his voice struck you hard as you watch the two of them push against each other, one trying to outmatched the other. During this conflict you try to scramble to your feet, unsure if you should help your captor or not. You didn't need much time to decide when a wet sound feel to your ears, with your eyes growing wide and your breath caught in your lungs. The lich stood tall and imposing over Ice Finn who's struggling to breath due to the claw piercing his chest, trying to keep himself standing for stability, before he's tossed to the side like a rag doll.

"You're also no longer of use to me."

"Finn!" you sob, automatically running to his side despite the spewing acid surrounding the platform. The Lich ignored the two of you and instead focused on performing his ritual with Jake throwing himself at him once more, you couldn't care about the fight around you, instead cradling Ice Finn's head to your chest as you desperately look for a way to seal the gaping hole in his body. "I'll figure out something..." you cry, hopelessly lost at the sight of his cold brownish blood.

"It's alright (y/n)," he raises his hand to your cheek, staining it a little. "I'm sorry if you weren't happy by my side, but I just wanna let you know that during our time together you made me the happiest man alive. Too bad we never put our castle to good use." was the only thing he laments, but other than that he sounds genuinely content with his time with you. And it's heartbreaking.

"Finn... I admit I wasn't happy at first, but once I grew to know you on a personal level I really did start to care about you. I thought I could help you but..." you sniff, wiping your nose for a second. "I wish I would've met you sooner, before all of this." you pull Finn tight, feeling him lack any sort of body temperature. Not even his usual coolness. You try to shake him awake, but all you receive is a cough of blood and his limp hand falling from your cheek, only making the tears flow. Your only comfort is the sight of Jake holding down the Lich while human Finn chants something from behind you. "A man needs a maid-!" three times before a flash shoots the evil zombie dog for good. A loose hand got away but Jake easily kicked it away into the weird acid pit that turned into an multi-dimensional portal at some point, but you're too wrecked with grief to care.

"Hey, sorry about your friend there." Jake was the first to apologize, with the two unsure how to comfort you. Raising your view with tear filled eyes. "You two... I can tell you guys are capable of the impossible, do you think you can fix this? All of this?" you plead, referring to the state of your world.

The boy and the dog share an uneasy look before falling on the lifeless boy in your arms. A sense of sympathy invades Finn as he looks at his mirrored self, raising a hand to his own chest. "We're just normal dudes..." they told you, causing you to cry even more until one of them added.

"But we know someone who definitely can."
