Chapter 14 - New York

Nat and I take out our pistols and start to fire, "We got this. It's good. Go!" Nat nods.

Steve turns to Clint, "You think you can hold them off?"

"Captain." He pulls a trigger on his bow; a arrow is mechanically chosen. "It would be my genuine pleasure."

Nat and I stand back to back as we shoot, protecting Clint as he helps civilians out of a bus. "You ever think we'd be fighting like this together?" I ask.

"Definitely not." She chuckles. Clint runs back to us and starts shooting arrows, "Just like Budapest all over again!"

"You and I remember Budapest very differently."

"When are you guys gonna tell me about that?" I ask, reloading my guns.

They both shake their heads as I slide across a taxi and kick an alien down, taking out a small dagger from my belt and throwing it into another's neck as Steve joins us.

Lighting strikes around us as Thor lands down beside us. "What's the story upstairs?"

"The powers surrounding the cube is impenetrable." Thor says.

"Thor is right. We gotta deal with these guys."

"How do we do this?" Nat asks.

"As a team."

"I have unfinished business with Loki." Thor looks up.

"Same." I mutter.

"Yeah, get in line." Clint nods.

"Save it. Loki's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need. Without him these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he's gonna need us..." Steve stops and turns as we head a motorbike approaching,

Bruce gets off the bike and looks around as he approaches us. "So, this all seems horrible."

"I've seen worse." Nat nods.

"Sorry." Bruce says to Nat and I.

"No. We could use a little worse." I smile.

Steve smiles, "Stark? We got him."

"Banner?"

"Just like you said." Steve nods.

"Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you." We all look up as the huge Leviathan turns down our street, following Tony.

"I... I don't see how that's a party..." I shake my head.

Bruce looks at us and turns, walking towards it. "Dr. Banner. Now might be a really good time for you to get angry." Steve nods.

"That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry." Bruce turns as his skin stretches and turns green. He punches the Leviathan as he fully transforms into the hulk.

Tony shoots a missile at the Leviathan, he drops down beside me and leans over me as it explodes. I stare up at him as he looks down at me, slowly turning away.

"Guys." Nat points up to the sky. We all look up to see hundreds more Aliens pouring out.

"Call it, Cap."
