Double Agent (Fem Reader X Tony Stark)

I changed into my suit and loaded up my weapons as soon as we got to the compound. Rhodey and I of course had to talk with Secretary Ross.....well a hologram of him.

I hated that man.

"Still no word from Vision?" Ross asks.

"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh." Rhodey nods.

"On a stolen quinjet with four of the world's most wanted criminals."

"You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right?" I point.

"My God, Y/N, your talent for horseshit rivals my own. You were one of them...until your husband got you off the hook."

"Still angry?" I ask. "Better be careful...might need another heart surgery if you keep getting this angry." I cross my arms. "My sister is not a criminal. Steve Rogers is not a criminal. And Sam Wilson is not a criminal." I finally say.

"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here." Rhodey adds.

"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel. You too
Y/N."

"That's right. And I'm pretty sure I've paid for that." Rhodey points to his legs.

"Ross you already know how I feel about it." I roll my eyes.

"You have second thoughts?" Ross asks Rhdoey.

"Not anymore."

"Mr. Secretary." Rhodey and I turn to see Steve, his hair was longer and he had a full beard. Nat was beside him, her hair was short and blonde now. Wanda, Sam, and Vision were behind them.

"You got some nerve. I'll give you that."

"You could use some of that right now." Nat smiles.

"The world's on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?"

"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight. And if you wanna stand in our way... We'll fight you, too." Steve nods.

Ross turns to us. "Arrest them."

"All over it." I fake smile and salute him, turning off the hologram.

The computer beeps as Rhodey walks up to Steve. "That's a court-martial. It's great to see you, Cap."

"You too, Rhodey." Steve smiles as they hug, Rhodey then turns to Nat and hugs her.

"Steve." I smile and pull him in. I close my eyes and smile as he holds me tight.

"How are you?" He kisses my cheek and pulls back.

"Terrific...my husbands now in space with a wizard and a kid." I sigh.

"I read about the wedding...congrats." Steve nods.

Nat shakes her head and pulls me in. "I've missed you terribly."

I pull back and rest my forehead against hers. "I've missed you more." I walk over to Sam and smile as I pull him in, "Hi Sammy." He smiles and pinches my cheek. Wanda then embraces me and sighs in relief. "Damn Vis....your hurt." I sigh.

"I'm fine, thank you." He nods.

"Well. You guys, really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of years." Rhodey nods.

"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five star." Sam chuckles.

"Uh, I think you look great." I turn as Bruce walks in. "Yeah. I'm back."

"Hi, Bruce." Nat smiles.

"Nat."

Sam looks over at me, "This is awkward."

We walk to a small room and sit down, trying to figure out what to do next. "So we gotta assume they're coming back, right? And they can clearly find us. We need all hands on deck. Where's Clint?" Bruce asks.

"After the whole Accords situation, he and Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families." Nat nods.

Bruce frowns, "Who's Scott?"

"Ant-Man."

"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man?" Bruce pauses. "Okay, look... Thanos has the biggest army in the Universe. And he is not gonna stop until he... He gets...Vision's stone."

"Well then, we have to protect it." I nod.

"No, we have to destroy it. I've been giving a good deal of thought to this entity in my head, about its nature. But also, its composition. I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something, very similar to its own signature, perhaps... Its molecular integrity could fail." Vision looks at Wanda.

Wanda shakes her head, "And you, with it. We're not having this conversation."

"Eliminating the stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't get it."

Wanda steps back. "That's too high a price."

"Only you, have the power to pay it. Thanos threatens half the Universe. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him."

"But it should. We don't trade lives, Vision." Steve nods.

"Captain, 70 years ago, you laid down your life to save how many millions of people. Tell me, why is this any different?"

Steve takes a breath, but before he has a chance to answer Bruce begins to speak. "Because you might have a choice. Your mind is made up of a complex construct of overlays. Jarvis, Ultron, Tony, me, the Stone. All of them mixed together. All of them learning from one another."

"You're saying Vision isn't just the stone?" Wanda asks.

"I'm saying that... If we take out the stone, there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts."

"Can we do that?" I ask.

"Not me. Not here." Bruce shakes his head.

"You better find someone, and somewhere fast. Ross isn't exactly just gonna let you guys have your old rooms back." Rhodey says, crossing his arms.

Steve looks up, "I know somewhere."
