Chapter 2

He grins knowingly. "Oh yeah, nothing to do with a certain blonde, blue-eyed honey whose name starts with L, huh?"

"What? No, Lorna's just my best friend," I protest, but deep down, I know he's not entirely wrong. Lorna isn't just attractive; she's incredible in so many ways. I silently reprimand myself for letting my thoughts drift toward her.

Staying on topic, Austin brings her up again. "Speaking of Miss Devine, have you seen her lately?"

I frown. "Why would I? I've been in Spain, remember?"

He chuckles, clearly enjoying himself. "Well, you're in for a surprise when you do," he says, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Why? What happened?" I ask, suddenly curious.

Austin's grin widens. "Let's just say she's taken hotness to a whole new level. She's hands-down the hottest girl in school now."

I can't help but feel intrigued, though I try to sound casual. "Come on, she couldn't have changed that much."

He chuckles again and reassures me, "No, it's not surgical—just some intense gym sessions. She's been putting in the work." Austin hints at the newfound attention she's been getting, especially from the guys at school.

I narrow my eyes at him, a hint of annoyance creeping onto my face. *She didn't need to change; she was already amazing,* I think to myself.

Sensing my irritation, Austin quickly shifts gears. "Anyway, the gang's heading to Brady's, and you're coming."

"Actually, Lorna said to buzz her when I woke up; she's supposed to be coming around," I reply, hoping he'll take the hint and leave. I'm genuinely excited to see her, but now, I'm feeling a little nervous, too.

"Ah, come on, dude! I haven't seen you all summer," Austin protests, putting on an exaggerated pout and giving me his best puppy-dog eyes. "Just text Lorna and ask her to meet us there, please."

"Alright, fine," I sigh. "I'll text her now."

Me: Hey, dimples. Austin's dragging me to Brady's Grill & Diner. Can you meet us there instead? The rest of the gang's already going to be there. Can't wait to see you. :) x*

Lorna: Hey doofus seriously dimples ??? I dont even have dimples grrr, and yes I'll meet you there in 20, looking forward to seeing you too :)..

I laugh at her reply calling me doofus and knowing I've noticed her dimples,as i know she hates the little dimple on her chin, but i think its cute especially the one on her right cheek..

Me: Haha doofus really? and you do have dimples :)

Lorna: Eh where? she replies.

Me: One on your chin and a cute one on your right side of your face when you smile ...

Lorna: oh right thanks for pointing out my bum chin doofus, anyway I'm leaving now see you soon..

Her reply makes me laugh out loud, drawing a curious look from Austin. I ignore him, still grinning, and quickly type out my response.

Me: Bahahahhaa bum chin, do you want me to start calling that instead ? hehe ;)

Lorna: Don't you dare !!!

Me: Just hurry your little "bum chin" up will you x

Lorna :I'm warning you Matthews !!

Me: Fine fine just hurry I'll order for you so you dont have to wait ok .. The usual yeh ?

Lorna: Yes please but get me a vanilla oat milkshake instead of full fat milk..

Me: yuk sounds gross 🤮 I use the gagging emoji to disclose my displeasure.

Lorna: hey dont knock it till you try it.

I'm grinning like a Cheshire Cat, unable to contain my excitement at seeing her.

"What are you smiling at?" Austin asks, his curiosity piqued.

"Nothing," I reply, my smile lingering as I think about my best friend. I toss my phone onto the bed. "I'm going to grab a quick shower. I'll be out in five."

After my shower, I brush my teeth and wrap a towel around myself as I leave the bathroom. I notice Austin scrolling through his phone, and he suddenly exclaims, "Sweet Jesus!" as if he's just seen the latest hot piece of ass—probably Kylie Jenner, given his obsession. I don't really see the appeal; Margot Robbie would be my celebrity crush.

Curious, I ask, "Whose ass are you perving at now?"

"Huh! Uh, no one," he stammers, hastily hiding his phone from my view. I raise an eyebrow suspiciously at his antics.

I quickly get dressed and walk over to him, snatching his phone and effortlessly unlocking it. The idiot didn't even bother to hide his code.

"Hey man, give it back!" he squeals.

"Yeah, I will, once I see what you're looking at," I laugh, holding my arm out to keep it out of his reach, like a child trying to reclaim a toy from a school bully.

When I open the phone, I find myself on Lorna's Instagram page. I click on her stories and see a picture of her in tight gym shorts and a crop top. The caption reads, "Getting my glutes on," accompanied by a peach emoji and a smiley face.

"Holy fuck, that's Lorna!" I almost shout. I quickly compose myself and notice that Austin has commented with a bunch of fire emojis on her picture. I glare at him, but he just shrugs with a smirk.

"What did I tell you? She's gotten hotter!" he insists.

He's not wrong. Damn, she looks incredible. Now I'm really nervous about seeing her. I quickly close his phone and toss it back to him.

"Hey, watch it!" he complains.

"Grunting, I say, "Let's go."

He shakes his head, mumbling something under his breath, but I ignore him.

I try to mentally prepare myself to see the new and improved Lorna, even though she was perfect before. But fuck me, I'd be lying if I said that pic of her ass didn't send blood straight to my cock.

I just hope I don't get awkward around her now.
