There was an unexplainable itch in your mind, telling you to get out of the closed area and breathe fresh air.
It was still dark when you woke up again, torches already extinguished a long time ago.
You glanced around as you sat up, noticing Susan, Lucy and the teen centaurs that you had become friends with very quickly were deep in slumber in the chamber you girls had claimed for yourselves.
Smiling to yourself as you stood, memories of the previous night flooded your mind. You remembered talking to Caspian about anything and everything under the sun.
You had bore your soul to him, telling him about the train accident that had caused the untimely demise of your parents when you had only been three years old. He had made you laugh when he had scrunched his face at the mention of 'train' leading you to calmly explain the railway system to him.
Caspian had then confessed about how he was an orphan too and all the things that he had to go through once Miraz was sure to have an heir, pouring his heart to you.
It felt like another thread now connected you two, someone who knew the pain of losing everyone they loved at a young age.
Throughout the night, you found yourself with a bundle of threads, your ideas, beliefs and principles matching many of his.
He had managed to carve out everything that you had buried deep within yourself-how the story books were the only escape you had from reality, how you had to learn to use a knife when people would try to take advantage upon learning that you had no one. The latter was a skill that you had gotten more proficient in when Peter used to teach you, promising that he'd train you to wield a sword when he got his hands on one.
Needless to say, the magnificent king of the old had acted on his promise on reaching here, every evening.
Caspian had commented that he saw you as a graceful young woman, and how your thoughts and skills would be just perfect to be a great queen, which had made you bite your lip as you blushed.
You now walked out of Aslan's How, the itch now had spread to your toes, wanting to feel something other than just grass and mud.
Once you were at the mouth of the cave, you took a deep breath in, the serenity of the night clearing all of your thoughts. You let your legs carry you aimlessly, not any particular destination in mind. The soft yet chilly breeze played with your hair as it traveled through the night, the light of the moon illuminating your path.
Soon, you were at the edge of a river that you had passed after meeting Caspian for the very first time. Settling down on the white sand art the edge of the river, you slowly slid your feet into the calming water, the comforting fluidity of it making you feel at peace.
Staring at the sky, you mused about how the stars were aligned in unlike constellations than the ones you could see from the window of your Orphanage. This lead to you mulling over just how many things were so different here than back there.
Much of these changes were positive than otherwise, even though you had arrived right in the middle of a clash between two royals.
You sighed quietly, but as you stared at the horizon, something golden had appeared in your peripheral vision. However, on checking over your shoulder, nothing was there.
