y/n pov:

I had always had a love for music. It was there with my mum and dad, it was there with my friends, it was there with my best friend and it was there with my bandmates. But music hasn't always had a part in my life. Ever since I was 14 years old, and my dad left me, my mom and I had stopped playing together. I had waited after school every day until 10th grade, the grade I'm in now, for dad to get back. But he never showed up.

Back in 8th grade, mom had tried to get me back into music by signing me up for a music camp. I loved being there and met my best friend, Rose Molina. She had recently moved into town and was attending Los Angeles Performing Arts School, where I went to.

On the last day of camp. My life changed forever. Rose and I had finished packing up the cabin we stayed in, and we brought our bags out to where everyone was sitting, waiting for our parents to come and pick us up. But mine never came.

Rose and her parents waited behind with me, so I wouldn't be alone. But three hours later, mom never showed up. That's when one of the camp leaders got a phone call. From 911. The roads were wet from the storm that went on last night, and the only parent I had left, died in a car crash. As I heard the sad news being broken to me, I felt hot tears well up in my eyes. Mom was the only parent I had left, and now she's gone. I wanted to quit music all over again.

Plans had been made that I would stay at my grandma and grandpas place. I still went to Los Angeles Performing Arts and Rose and I become closer than ever. Rose got me back into music, as a way of keeping my mother's memory alive.

As the two of us were talking at our lockers, I glanced away and saw four boys, our age, walking down the hall. My eye immediately caught the one with the messy brunette hair. His smile, his hair, his eyes, his arms. From that moment I knew I loved him.

Months and months had passed, and Rose and I became really good friends with the four boys walking down the hall. There was Luke, Alex, Reggie, and Bobby.  Luke and I became especially close, but he showed no sign of lovers. I couldn't help my feelings for him, and they only grew stronger. One night, I stayed out late with him in the studio. We were writing songs for his band, Sunset Curve, and I showed him I could play some electric guitar. He said I was amazing, and my singing was the best he'd ever heard. He invited me to join Sunset Curve, and I accepted.

We walked home later that night around 12:30, and it was cold. He gave me his red and black flannel to cover up in. It was warm and smelled of his cologne. We lived in different streets, but they weren't that far from each other. We walked past mine first, and then he walked home himself.

---------Very Big Time Skip---------

Alex, Reggie, Bobby and I all sat around the studio eagerly waiting for Luke to get back. Luke told us he was getting us a gig. Bobby and I were sitting on the couch, Alex was pacing back and forth, and Reggie was tuning his bass.

As a rock band in 1995, it was hard to find gigs, but the main place we wanted to play at was the Orpheum. The Orpheum was this cool place with a big sign out the front in Blue neon lights that read "ORPHEUM". Not many bands were able to play here, and if they did, they would go down as legends.

As we talked about where it would be cool to play, Luke walked in.

"Guys. Sit down" he told us. We all did as we were told.

"What did you do?" Reggie asked Luke excitedly.

"So in about three months, in December, we got a gig," He paused for suspense then yelled out "AT THE ORPHEUM!!!" Everyone jumped up and down all over the studio. In a rush of excitement, without even thinking, I ran over to Luke and jumped in his arms. Realising what I did, I climbed out and said "sorry, I got carried away," he laughed, and we all danced around until it was time to go home.

_____ Time Skip____ (play now or never)

One Two Three

Alex yelled, counting the beat with his drumsticks.

Take off
Last stop
Countdown till we blast open the top
Face first
Full charge
Electric hammer to the heart

We sang as I danced with Reggie. I loved playing the guitar, it was something special I shared with Luke, something we could connect with.

Clocks move forward
But we don't get older, no
Kept on climbing
Till our stars collided
And all the times we fell behind
Were just the keys to paradise
Don't look down
'Cause we're still rising
Up, right now
And even if we
Hit the ground
We'll still fly
Keep dreaming as we'll live forever
But live it like it's now or never

I danced with Alex a bit, then Bobby. Luke looked at me weird and moved his head as if to invite me over to sing with him.

Hear the noise
In my head
It's calling out like a voice I can't forget One life
No regrets
Catch up, got no time to catch my breath Clocks move faster
'Cause it's all we're after now

I finally gave in, running over to Luke. We sang and danced through the rest of the song. Looking intensely into each other's eyes, but I knew he didn't like me back. Were bandmates. That kind of friendship could make or break the band, and I certainly didn't want to break it.

Won't stop climbing
'Cause this is our time, yeah
When all the days felt black and white
Those were the best shades of my life
Don't look down
'Cause we're still rising
Up,l right now
And even if we
Hit the ground
We'll still fly
Keep dreaming like we'll live forever
But live it like it's now or never
We ain't searching for tomorrow (tomorrow)
'Cause we got all we need today (today)
Living on a feeling that's been running through our veins
We're the revolution that's been singing in the rain
Don't look down
'Cause we're still rising
Up, right now
And even if we
Hit the ground
We'll still fly
Keep dreaming like we'll live forever
But live it like it's now or never
It's now or never (now or never)

We all finished singing, and my voice ran out over everyone's on the last note.
