Neo wakes up. He looks around. He's in a white room, he sees a computer connected to a heart monitor and to him. He also sees some medical tools.
I'm in a hospital, Neo thinks.
A nurse comes into the room. She's a tall lady with a long white coat. Her hair is blond and she has a tattoo of a red plus on her right arm.
"Oh hello dear, you've woken up," says the nurse. She has a texan accent.
"Who are you?" says Neo.
"I am nurse Nellie," replies the nurse. "And who might you be? The doctor checked your clothes for documents or identifications, but found none."
There's a pause.
"What year is it?" asks Neo.
"Why it's 1999," answers nurse Nellie.. You don't remember?"
"Sorry, I forgot." Neo looks around and sees papers that he will have a surgery on his legs and looks back at Nellie. "My name is Thomas Anderson."
"Thomas... Anderson?" And the nurse quickly left the room.
Neo had to get out of here. He looks at documents of his x-ray. He had to get up out of bed. Neo tears off all the wires around him off of himself. In the x-ray, everything was completely fine, actually very good.
He lies back down and after a few minutes, a doctor came in.
"So, you are... Mr. Anderson?" asked the doctor. "I'm doctor Lane."
Neo just nods.
"You were found in the middle of the road unconscious. We were surprised that you're alive and well."
Dr. Lane gives Neo a glass of water.
Neo drinks it fully and then he sees the world turn green and everything is code.
This is the matrix, he thinks.
"You will have a surgery scheduled next week. Also, for your convenience, we brought in your clothes that you were wearing when we found you.
Neo doesn't say anything, but they leave anyways. He gets up because nothing is real. He changes into his clothes and walks out into a hallway. The hallway was empty except for a blind man. It was pretty clean there. He sees Doctor Lane.
"Where are you going?" asks Dr. Lane. "You are not authorized to leave."
Neo doesn't care and puts his glasses on. He spins and kicks Lane in the chest. He's sent flying into a door at the end of the hall, which breaks.
"Backup! Backup!" shouts Lane.
Backup, hmm, the good old days, Neo thought.
Neo didn't even bother fighting the guards he was already outside on the street. He sees some talking on a cellphone. He just takes from his hands.
"Hey, that's mine!"
Obviously, Neo doesn't listen and just flies up onto a tall skyscraper. He turns on the phone, only to see that their is a password. There is no spoon, he remembers.
He closes his eyes and by the time Neo opens them, phone is on. He quickly calls a special number. No answer. He calls all the other numbers. Still no answer. He can't contact any of the operators for ships from the Zion Fleet.
He's not left without ideas though. He flies at top speed and in half a minute he's outside that same door leading to the Oracle's apartment. Neo walks into the kitchen. He takes off his glasses.
"Neo, I've been expecting you," says the Oracle. She taking out cookies from her oven. "I see that your confused. It's that same look when you first walked through my door." She turns around. "Tell me the most obvious question you can."
"Why am I here?" asks Neo.
"Come on, you can get more obvious than that."
"Why am I still alive?"
"Bingo. You are alive because you made a choice, and that choice cost you more than you thought it would."
Neo looks at the Oracle attentively, and she does the same.
"When Smith copied himself in me, something happened. Later, the last second before I died, deconstructed myself into many bits of code to reboot the Matrix."
"Go on," says the Oracle.
"Some time after, I was reassembled. Why?"
"Because you chose to reboot the Matrix, you were later reassembled by the Architect. You woke up in the same spot you died in. I know what you want Neo, you want to leave, don't you?'
Neo nods.
"If you want to do that, you'll have to find the same place where you found the architect, or actually just before that." The Oracle hands Neo a key. "You know which door."
Neo leaves.
A/N Hey guys! I hope you like my story! I try to make it as philosophical as possible, like the movies. Okay bye.
