Peter ft. Spider-Man

"Miss Potts, can I ask you something?" I asked Miss Potts while I was reading through one of the proposed budget plan of the Marketing Department.

"Sure, Pete. Are you hungry? You can check the fridge. It's always stack." She replied.

"No, well, maybe a little bit but I wanted to know if Mr. Stark is alright." I told her.

"Of course he's okay, what made you think he's not?" She asked she put a halt to her work as she looked at me.

"Well, he's been gone everyday to go to a meeting. You and I both know that he hates those and he look really stressed this past few days." I said with worry in my tone.

It took a few more seconds before she decided to tell me what's really going on with Mr. Stark.

"He's been attending a meeting to revised the Accords with Ross, Shield and the other Avengers." She said

"What?" I asked in shocked.

"He's been talking with Fury regarding the rouge's situation even before you moved here. They're doing their best to amending and revising the Accords." She rephrase her words

"No, what about Mr. Stark? About what happened to him? Is he okay? Is there anyone with him to make sure nothing bad is—"

"Peter, relax. This is the very reason why Tony didn't want you to know about the meeting. He knows that you'll worry too much and that you'd want to be there. Tony don't want you to be there because that will raise question as too who you are. Ross wanted Spider-Man to sign the Accords too. Tony doesn't want you to get involve."

"Why? I'm very much involved in the Civil War than—"

"Civil War?"

"Ned and I use it whenever we talk about the fight. Something we say whenever one of our classmates hear us talking."

"Peter, you're under our care. You're our responsibility now. We don't want you to be tied to anything anytime soon. Tony doesn't want the government to get their hands on you. It's already infiltrated with Hydra."

"There are undercover Hydra in the government?"

"That's what I've gathered. Besides there's too much conflict of you being a superhero. You're still a minor Peter. You've got so much weight on your shoulders, we'll do our best to prevent something that will make it heavier than it already is and we want to help you carry it as well."

"Miss Potts—"

"I don't want you to think that we're crossing the line but please understand that we're doing this to protect you, the best that we can and able to do. You're still young Peter. I've known the stories of the other Avengers and I don't want you to go through that. We may not know everything you've been through but we're trying our best to understand the things that we know."

"I'm sorry that me and Tony barge in your family and then demanding and deciding things for you and May. We care for you Peter and I want you to know that you and May are welcome in our little family."

"Family?"

"Me, Tony, Happy, and Rhodey, you and May. I never had the chance to thank you though."

"Thank me for what?"

"Well, if it weren't for you, Tony wouldn't have proposed to me."

"It was a lousy proposal"

"Yes it is but I wouldn't have it any other way. I expected something like this will happen though but I'm glad that we're finally getting married."

"Congratulations Miss Potts."

"Now that you're part of my family, you better learn how to address me in some other way."

"It's awkward to call you by your first name, but I'll try."

"Peter, please don't ask Tony about the meeting. He'll tell you eventually. It's not like he can hide it."

"Okay and Miss Potts..."

"I want you to know that you, Mr. Stark, Happy and Col. Rhodes are welcome in our little family too."

She gave me a small yet sweet smile.

"Thank you Angel"

"Angel? Really?"

"I'm sorry but May keeps calling you that, she is right that you're an Angel and a sweetheart. Very fitting nicknames for you." She said with laughter in her voice.

"Yet you're fiancé calls me after a brand of underwear."

"Ah, you finally found out about the story behind Tony's nickname for you."

"Happy told me."

"Happy told you?"

"I know I was shocked too, but I think he's just sucking up to me."

"Maybe" We looked at each other and laughed.

"Be a little nice to Happy, he really likes May. I've known him for years now, this is the only time I saw him like this."

"Be nice? I thought you think I'm an Angel?"

"Not when it comes to May. She's really lucky to have you."

"I'm the lucky one." I replied and returned my attention back to work. I hear her heels clicking towards my direction. I felt her hands grabbed my cheeks gently. Turning my head towards hers.

"Don't sell yourself short. You're an amazing and brilliant kid. You don't know how proud we are. Get that in your stubborn head Pete. Yes, you're Spider-Man but don't forget that you're also Peter, Peter Benjamin Parker. There's no Spider-Man without Peter Parker. Spider-Man could've been some sick villain here to destroy the world but how lucky we are that behind the mask is the most caring, loving and smartest boy in the world. Earth is so lucky and bless to have someone behind the mask of the web slinging hero is a boy with a golden heart."

"You're so much more than a superhero in spandex. You're Peter Parker. May Parker's sweet and loving nephew, Ned and MJ's goofy and smart best friend, my sweet little angel and you're Tony Stark's genius intern/kid."

"You want me to cry, don't you?" I said as tears pour down from my eyes.

"Wasn't my intention but I was expecting it. You needed a reminder."

"Pep? Kid? Peter, why are you crying?"

We whipped our heads towards the door. Mr. Stark was standing there with worry in his eyes.

"I was looking at the computer screen for too long." I lied while whipping the tears on my face. Miss Potts grabbed some tissue and handed it to me.

"We need to work some things for your enhanced senses, you don't have that much protection when you're not in the suit." He said as he walked towards us.

"Nah, I'm good. It's okay."

"Nonsense, we'll fix something up this weekend. Its late, I bought some Italian. Let's head up and eat dinner. May and Happy are waiting, come on now." He said as he combs my hair away from my face.
