THE MONTHS BLED together, one day bleeding into the next and so on and so on until two months had passed in what seemed like a blink of an eye. Endless days spent spinning and training to use a sword as if it was a sensual ballet waking up at the crack of dawn and training until the sun rose above her head, only to stumble back into the captain's quarters bleary-eyed and tiredness clinging to her bones. Only to pass out and wake up in the afternoon after Jaclyn had done her Captaining for the day and read books about magic in between hanging out with Jaclyn and finding out more and more about her pirating life
Slowly they were beginning to trust each other.
But the words of Gibbs I know but that loyalty may still have a price to pay haunted her. Ate away at her, feeding on the nervousness biting in her stomach like a parasite, but the more she got to know Jaclyn, the more she realised that her statement was also true that she would do anything for the pirate, even if it ended up killing her.
Sweat dripped off her brow and there was an ache already setting in her bones but she pushed through it as she continued to warm up, twirling the sword and arching it in the air as the stillness of the earth eased her and the gentle rock of the ship, as well as Jaclyn's determined gaze (as the pirate was steering), spurred her on, pushing her to be even better than she was before
"Sweetheart!" Jaclyn called, making her lose concentration and heave as she dropped the sword to her side, glowering at Jaclyn for interrupting her. She storms over to the woman, knowing that even if she tried she wouldn't be able to get back into it as her peace had been shattered
"What?" She snapped, anger rolling over her features "I was trying to train!"
"I know, I know and you're doing so well babe, you've come so far in only a short time, you must really have some prince blood running through your veins." Jaclyn laughed as if it was the funniest joke in the world but Erica didn't laugh. Instead, she just stared blankly at her beautiful girlfriend, trying so hard to not touch her girlfriend because that would mean that Jaclyn won and she didn't need Jaclyn to win, seeing that her girlfriend wasn't reacting sobered her up quickly
"What?" Erica asked again, anger pinpricking her
"I want to give you something sweetheart. You've worked so hard and I wanted you to know you're efforts are appreciated and so I got you something" Jaclyn told her with a sweet grin and just like that her anger dissipated replaced by something better something stronger and something she prayed would last forever but just like before it was gone in a flash having not settled in her bones quite yet
"What?" Erica repeated, her voice softer this time
Jaclyn's grin turned into something darker -- more flirty and Erica felt her stomach twist and coil and she hesitantly lifted an arm up to touch her or at least do something, for a moment her brain dragged her into the most sinful parts of herself but before she could act on instincts, Jaclyn moved away and she almost whined
