ELIZABETH AND JACLYN owned a lighthouse. Off the shores of Port Royal, which -- apparently -- used to be one of the best ports in the Caribbean apart from Nassau. But now Port Royal had all but sank and the bits that hadn't had turned to rubble
It was nice yesterday. To be frozen in time even for a bit, and to share something so intimate. Seeing Jaclyn hold her own heart in her hands, rough but gentle as she caressed the heart as if it was the most precious thing she had ever touched was something she never thought possible
But then time caught up with them all and it was time to jump head first into reality, Jaclyn, Will and Elizabeth made ways in the lighthouse while Gibbs and the crew go onto somewhere called Shipwreck Cove and according to Jaclyn they would meet up with the rest of the crew in a few days or a week a most
"Shipwreck Cove what's that?" Erica asked, touching Jaclyn's bicep and she spun around and looked at Erica, a flash of pain and nostalgia in her eyes, she lowers herself onto the battered leather sofa in the cramped space
"Where I grew up"
"You said you grew up in Ireland"
"And I did when I wasn't there"
"You didn't tell me the whole truth"
Erica half wondered if she was being childish for feeling angry, she shouldn't and didn't expect Jaclyn to tell her the truth -- or at least all the truth -- but Jaclyn had led her to believe that she was telling the truth and now Erica didn't know what to believe
"But I didn't lie either" Jaclyn said, taking Erica's hand and pulling her onto her knee facing her "Look I'm sorry for withholding information I didn't do it on purpose there's a lot about my life that I'll tell you and later you may find out it wasn't the truth -- or at least the whole truth but I promise you I am trying to tell you the truth. You, Erica Swan, are the only person who knows this much about me"
There was still a lot of anger there, but Erica could tell she was telling the truth this time. That Jaclyn was telling the truth and she leaned forward, kissing Jaclyn sweetly on the sofa. Not wanting to get too caught up in the flurry of emotions they broke apart. Henry was upstairs playing and getting things ready for Erica because there were still a lot of things she needed to learn, or so she was told
"So what's Shipwreck like?"
"A madhouse is what it is, full of different pirates from different walks of life and ideologies and it's sort of amazing but sort of haunting as well and Shipwreck Cove is where the Brethern meets and where the Code was written"
"The Code?"
"Ah, the Code, the Pirata Codex!" The flamboyant pirate grinned at Erica. "Written by the Pirate Lords Morgan and Bartholomew during the Second Brethren Court, meant to put in some 'law', rules into the chaos that is the pirate life, upheld by the Keeper and his most loyal men ... That is if the Pirate Lords can't keep to it as well as the pirates that sail under their banner. Breaking and disrespecting the Code in any way could lead to severe punishment, much like how you guys do things with the law and such, only with more freedom for everyone."
