Owen nodded their head. Riley only smiled at them. With a pat on the shoulder, Owen made their way up the hill. They turned back to wave to Riley, but they had disappeared.

Despite being disappointed, Owen's poor body state hit them hard. They walked to the corner store to grab something to snack on. They had an extra ten dollars on them, so it was no big deal.

After grabbing their snack, they started to walk. They didn't remember it being this long, but usually they were in their head. So they didn't complain too much. Their legs felt sore, but their stomach didn't hurt anymore. Their throat felt a little dry, but they didn't mind.

Owen noticed a flower shop on their walk to the place they wanted to be. They stopped and grabbed some flowers. Forget-me-nots. They always liked what they symbolized, so they thought it was fitting.

They continued their walk, this time taking in their world. The way houses were placed, the way the wind blew their hair around. It was nice. They felt like they belonged there.

Owen arrived at the same place, just later. The orange gave the graveyard a comforting glow. Something usually unfit for a graveyard. But in this moment, it felt right.

"I was wondering where you ran off to. Glad you're ok, kid."

Owen looked at the graveyard keeper. They gave him a smile and continued to make their way towards the spot. The birdhouse was easy to spot. As they approached it the birds fled. But it still stood. The birdhouse they placed two years ago.

Oliver's grave.

Owen didn't care if people still loved Oliver. They weren't him, and he would never be them.

Placing the flowers down, Owen sat down next to the birdhouse. Birds started to fly back once he sat still.

"I'm sorry you weren't treated well. I'll survive for the both of us."
