today was midsummers and every year sarah and I would get ready at her house, I was supposed to meet her there at 1 since it didn't start until 4. 

since it was 10:30 I had a bit of time to relax and get some cleaning done, I pulled out my speaker and set it up in the kitchen. I connected my phone to the speaker and blasted my music, I started off with the kitchen unloading the dishes from the dishwasher and putting them away.

I then moved onto the lounge room and vacuumed it along with the hallway, next was my room. it was such a mess, I had clothes everywhere along with my bong. if my parents ever decided to come home I would be in so much trouble.

I put all my dirty clothes into my hamper and hid my bong behind my mirror in the corner of my room. I had still had about an hour and a half till I had to meet s. so I decided to do some reading while I had the chance, I sat down on my day bed and starting burning candle beside me.

before I knew it, it was 12:45 and I had to grab my things and head to tannyhill. I pulled my dress and shoes out from my cupboard and made my way down the stairs, I placed my things into my car and locked the house up.

as I drove down the road to sarah I looked out to the water, it was beautiful. when I drove down the incredibly long drive way I noticed rafe speeding off on his bike nearly crashing into me.

as I unloaded my things out of my car sarah rushed out of the house and pulled me into a hug "I am so excited". I greeted the rest of the family before I joined sarah upstairs to her room, sarah sat in front of her vanity doing her makeup as I sat on her floor in front her mirror doing mine.

I kept my makeup simple, only applying concealer to my skin along with some blush, highlighter and dark pink gloss. my eyes were less simple then the rest, I went for a shiny look with some blush coloured eyeshadow blending into a gold tone.

I couldn't do hair for the life of me so that was when sarah came in, I figured the best hairstyle to match my dress was a crown braid. 

when we looked at the time when we were done it was 3 meaning we had an hour left. I left sarah's room and walked into the guest bedroom. 

I slipped on this gorgeous rose gold dress, it had flowers along the design and a slip that went up my thigh, it was beautiful. I was meant to wear it to the last midsummer's but things happened and I didn't end up going. 

I looked myself in the mirror and noticed how beautiful I looked, I felt confident for the first time in so long.

once I walked out of the room I shut the door behind me, I started walking downstairs to meet sarah.

as I turned the corner to head downstairs my body collided with another, as I looked up I noticed it was rafe "s-sorry" I said as I moved to the side of him.

he was gazing at my body, he let out a smirk before he quickly looked back up to me "you look beautiful" he said to me as he continued back to his room, weird.

once I walked down the stairs I walked into the main room where everyone was, as I walked in I watched everyones eyes catch my dress.

                                                                     "you look gorgeous bails"

                                                                        "that dress is stunning"

I thanked the group before walking over to topper who then pulled me in for a hug, "you look stunning" he claimed as he kissed my forehead.

as we made our way outside to the two black cars out the front, the cameron's went in one whilst topper and I went in our own. 

when we got to the resort we jumped out of the car as the valet went and parked it around the back, we joined the others inside as we waited for our names to be called out.

I felt rafe's glare on me almost every couple of minutes, topper noticed it also.

"remember when you liked rafe when you were in what? year 10?" he said as he took a sip from his cup, I punched him in the shoulder causing him to groan. he laughed as he walked away from the drink station inside the resort.

"hey princess" said a voice behind me, I rolled my eyes knowing exactly who it was. I turned around to him and sure enough there he was... looking fine as fuck in his tux.

I choked on my drink when I saw him, how was he so good looking. 

"my eyes are up here" he said as he placed fingers under chin lifting my head up, the butterflies in my stomach went off.

"what do you want?" I asked as I slammed my drink on the table and looked over to him. he shook his head at me and laughed "next time you nearly hit me with your car, I'll make you regret it" he said before walking away.

I stood there feeling myself fill up with anger "its our turn next" topper as he tapped my shoulder causing me to pull out of my thoughts.

I nodded and walked to the door at the back of the resort, we watched at the cameron's made there way down the staircase. 

"I need to talk to you about something after this" I said to topper as he intertwined our arms together, he nodded his head.

it was our time to make our entrance, we walked down the stairs to the grass, I felt everyone eyes on me as we walked down.

once we finished making our entrance, I pulled topper aside and took him around the corner of the resort. 

"what's up bails?" he asked me

I sighed and buried my face in my hands.

"remember last summer, when I disappeared for a bit?" 

he nodded his back to me worried.

I sighed once again "that summer something happened"

"wha-what" he stuttered.

"well so it started off when I spent every day with sarah, we were together constantly and then when she had that end of school party, I was so drunk and so was he. we flirted and hung out most of the night, then one thing led to another and we went up to the bedroom and you know" I stopped as I realised my eyes were filling up with tears.

topper looked to me concerned, he rubbed my back and wiped the tears from my eyes.

"when we were done he told me not to tell anyone since it was meaningless sex, and then every time he was me he'd flirt me with me and we'd secretly sneak off. we spent so much time together that I caught feelings for him, I thought he did too. then one day he stopped talking to me, found he was talking about taking my virginity and how it was a bet and stuff. when I found out I was heartbroken, so I packed my bags and left"

I wiped the tears from my face, top looked at me disgust "the guy was rafe" he said as he stood up. "yeah" I replied as I continued sobbing, "bails" I heard a voice come from around the corner, it was sarah.

she walked up to me and pulled me into her "I take it you heard that?" I asked, she nodded her head and held me tightly. 

"I figured something happened between you guys because once you left he turned into more of a dick than he already was" she pulled away from the hug and smiled at me.
