Captains - Patrick Cripps

5:30pm Wednesday March 27th 2017

Leni was sitting on her bed, she had to keep her ankle in a comfortable position or else it would start to cramp up and she'd be sitting down with a leg cramp for a little while. There wasn't much for her to do as it was a Wednesday night, she had been with Cassie in the morning and Pat in the afternoon but now she was just at home.

Leni was fairly sure that Jack was home but they hadn't really talked in a while, the only conversations they'd had recently were just then saying what's for dinner or asking where something was or saying they were going out, even those were awkward.

Leni hated it.

Jack was basically her little brother and as of late he was like a stranger, as much as Leni hated to admit if Jack didn't forgive her by the next month she would most likely break up with Pat. Pat as much as she liked him she wasn't sure if she loved him as much as she loved Jack him being her cousin and one of her closest friends.

Leni came to the realisation recently that she didn't just like Patrick, she loved him. She felt as though it was too early and that he didn't feel the same so she kept this to herself, she didn't want to say that she loved him and have him say he didn't love her yet.

That would be embarrassing and awkward for her.

As Leni was deep in her thoughts a knock on her bedroom door brought her back to reality. Looking up she saw Jack standing there hopping from foot to foot awkwardly waiting for her to acknowledge his presence.

"Hey" Jack greeted when he saw her look up towards him

"Hi" Leni replied with a look of suspicion on her face after all he had been the one avoiding her

"Uh can we talk?" He asked scratching the back of his neck and looking around the room

"Yeah, you can sit on the couch" Leni said getting confused as to why he was there

"I'm here to apologise" He stated

"Did your mum make you do this?" Leni asked suspiciously

"What? No. I wanted to do this because I've been a dick recently" He muttered looking down at his hands in his lap

"You sure have" She mumbled in reply

"I'm sorry I was a dick about your relationship with Crippa, it was just weird for me, seeing you dating someone especially someone who's my mate. I was also kind of scared you would forget about me and just spend all your time with him and none with me. I didn't want to lose my best friend so I panicked and got mad and started avoiding you" He sighed beginning to pour out his feelings, Leni gestured for him to continue as he looked up at her.

"I know it was wrong of me to act how I did and I know that the stuff I said to you isn't true. I don't know why I said he would break your heart because now that Ive seen the two of you together I've realised I was wrong. I shouldn't have tried to control your dating life and I'm really sorry about it" Jack apologised sincerely, Leni looked at his face and saw his eyes were watering slightly

"Come here" Leni said opening her arms for a hug, he accepted it gratefully and wrapped his arms around her. Both of them were glad they weren't fighting anymore, although they weren't back to normal yet it was a step closer

"You were a dick and didn't have he right to say anything you did but I forgive you" Leni spoke

"I'm so glad you don't hate me, I was scared you would reject my apology" Jack said although it was slightly muffled due to his head being buried in her hair, he still wasn't letting her out of the hug which made her laugh lightly.

Leni and Jack were both glad that after nearly a month of arguing and ignoring each other they were friends again.

Patrick was lying on his back on his bed, he had been thinking about his relationship with Leni recently. He didn't like how he was the reason that she and Jack were at odds, he knew deep down that he was in love with her but he didn't want to come between her and her family.

Pat knew that he couldn't be the thing that was preventing 2 people who were basically siblings getting along.

It had been about an hour of him thinking of what he was going to do, not wanting to keep Leni and Jack from getting along.

He decided what he was going to do.

He didn't know when he would do it.

He hoped it wasn't the wrong choice because it was going to break him.
