Kol crouched behind a crate, looking at the scene unfolding in front of him. Klaus had sent him ahead to scout the area. Well, he had actually sent himself to scout ahead, given that he was bored and had nothing to do. Shaking her head exasperated, Davina had rubbed her temples with a sigh.

"And you ask why you are always attracting trouble." She had pointed out, pinching the bridge of her nose. Kol merely shrugged and gave his love a lopsided grin, marking the end of that conversation. Peaking from the gap between the two crates, Kol pursed his lips at the sigh in front of him.

There was a group of rugged men, standing around a drawn pentagram. They were all inside an abandoned warehouse which Kol had followed them in. They seemed like normal witches but the original knew not to underestimate them. He knew first-hand how much trouble their blind loyalty had caused and has no intention to have that repeated this time around.

"Do you have them?" One of the men gruffly asked, he focus on a silhouette who just entered through the dusty and worn door at the entrance of the warehouse. The silhouette nodded in confirmation, waving his hand towards a bundle of shadows behind him. Kol squinted his eyes further and froze. Illuminated by the poor lighting, two children stood, trembling due to the cold.

"Perfect! Then, let's start. We have no right to prolong this momentous occasion." The first man commanded, gesturing towards the pentagram. It seems like he was the one in charge. The other man walked towards the drawn figure and dumped the minors in the middle. Both of them were shaking in fear, panic settling in their eyes.

The men started chanting what Kol then recognized as a sacrifice ritual. They must be drawing the power from the children and channelling it towards the Hollow. He quickly speeded towards the pentagram and snatched the children from right under their noses. Putting the children behind him, he burst out laughing.

"Oh, I am sorry to interrupt this momentous occasion but I really can't let this continue." Kol taunted, feigning a disappointed look.

"After all, I do have a reputation to upload, and I can't be beaten by a bunch of baby witches." Kol mocked, raising his eyebrow.

"Baby witches?" The leader repeated, scoffing, "We have access to power way beyond your imagination, vampire. I was going to let you leave, but now that you have insulted our power and pride, you will not leave this room alive."

With that promise, the men quickly turned to corner him in one area. Raising their hands, several sharp shards flew towards him. Quickly impaling him, he immediately fell to his knees, a grunt of pain escaping his mouth.

"That would have worked if it weren't for multiple reasons." Kol mused, wrapping a hand around the shard impaling him and quickly yanked it out. Letting the harmless piece of wood fall to the floor, he rose to his feet.

"Firstly, when dealing with a vampire, you should always aim for the heart. You missed." Kol mused, shaking his finger,  "Secondly, I am not exactly a normal vampire."

Kol grinned at them before picking up the fallen piece of wood with a flash. Clenching it in his palm, he threw it towards the leader, his hand an unclear blur. He watched impassively as the target struck true and the leader fell with a strangled gasp.

"How dare you-" One of the men cried, outraged, surging forward towards the original. The rest of the men were backing away from the body of their fallen leader. Kol watched quietly as the angered witch approached him, hands tightly twisted into fists. Just when he was about to start chanting, the original speeded behind him and thrusting a hand into his chest, he pulled out the mortal's heart.

Letting the organ fall to the ground, Kol gave the group an amused smile, shaking his head. His hand was still dripping with blood, the crimson colour shining eerily.

"Anyone else wants to try?" Kol drawled, raising his eyebrow. All of the men looked collectively at the vampire before letting their eyes drop down to the trail of blood snaking towards them and shaking their heads violently.

"Well then, I will be going"
