With cries filling her office, Nina and Lauren didn't know what else to tell Faye and Zander to help ease their minds on the whole move.
"I know how much you guys love this place, trust me aunty loves this place too, but there's a better place for us somewhere else." Nina said but their cries only worsened.
This place wasn't just special to Nina, it was special to them too. They got to help build this place into what it is now, and to see it all disappear was just as devastating for them.
To make matters worst, it was already bad enough Nina felt powerless being able to help Kaila, but now she couldn't even comfort Faye or Zander.
It seemed like nothing she did was right anymore.
"I'm staying!" Zander crossed his arms passionately as he stood out of his seat with a pout spread across his face.
"Zander." Lauren lightly scolded appalled by the boys behavior.
"Me too." Faye copied.
"Enough with this you two. Aunty's doing everything she can to make this a smooth transition for all of us." Lauren said sternly as she looked them both in the eyes. "I know this is going to be a big change but change is a good thing."
"No want change!" Faye bursted into even more tears as the girl dropped to the floor flaring her arms and legs around upsettingly. A loud thud echoed as she hit the floor with such force that part of her tears were from the pain shooting through her sore bottom.
"Faye that's enough," Lauren bent down to Faye's level as she picked her up despite the resistance Faye posed. "We aren't throwing a tantrum over this."
"Let go!" The small girl demanded as she wiggled helplessly in the woman's grasp.
Sighing Lauren shook her head as she looked to Nina for help, but with her friend still occupied in trying to get Kaila to stop crying too, Lauren looked back over at Faye with a sigh. "Aunty will let you down if you promise not to fall onto the floor like that again." Lauren negotiated not wanting the little girl to hurt herself again.
But Faye didn't seem interested in anything the woman had to say anymore. Instead she continued to struggle in her attempt to get down while Lauren just held her firmly in place.
"Please don't close the shop." Zander turned to beg the woman sitting in her leather chair while Lauren was left to deal with Faye.
"I wouldn't if I didn't have to Zander, but I already told you guys, this is for the best. We'll all be safer if we leave this place." Nina assured as she was finally able to get Kaila to stop crying in her lap.
"No aunty! Stay!" Zander pleaded like Nina had a choice.
"I'm sorry bud but no." Nina said as Zander buried his face into his hands as tears leaked through his fingers and onto the floor.
"Not fair!" Faye suddenly shouted as she darted her gaze towards Nina and Kaila across the table. "All her fault!" She demanded pointing at Kaila.
And just like before, Kaila's tears were quick to find themselves falling back down her face as she couldn't believe her ears.
And neither could Nina or Lauren.
"Yeah!" Zander chimed in. "She brought the meanies back!"
Nina and Lauren were speechless as neither of them had seen that coming from either of the two littles.
Kaila's sobs were quick to turn from a one to a ten in a matter of seconds as she turned her entire body away from everyone.
Facing Nina's body, Kaila felt embarrassed as both of the people she had considered to be her friends turned against her. Blaming her for everything they were going to endure. She already knew all of this was her fault, but to hear it being thrown out so carelessly stabbed deeper than she had anticipated.
