Your P.O.V.

As I gain consciousness and feeling back into my body, I can hear my favorite song playing.

Did I die?

I ask myself as I focus my eyes on my hands and feet.

Where am I?

I wonder, as I lift my back and slide my legs to the edge of the hospital bed.

Shoot, so I'm not dead...

My feet finally touched the cold ceramic floor. It was as if the cold activated all my respiratory feeling and my whole body screamed in pain.

My head was throbbing, but I knew I had to find out where I was. I looked around to see if I could find any clues, but I found nothing. I looked down at my new set of clothes and realized, "I'm is S.T.A.R. Labs...?"

As if in response, I hear cluster and loud movement behind me.

Caitlyn.

She looked different. Not as happy as I usually see her. She had tears pouring out of her eyes as she looked at me in disbelief.

"I... I thought I was never going to see you again... I thought-" she hesitated. "You scared me, Y/n." She slowly and calmly walked towards me. She gave me a loving hug, but I was still confused.

The first thing to pop up in my mind was Barry. All I could remember was that I pushed Barry out of the way of lightning.

"Cait.. Where is Barry?"
I looked at her with worry in my eyes.

She became nervous and serious. "Oh, Barry is okay.. He was in a coma for 9 months and he-"

"9 months?! Is he okay? How could that happen? Can I see him?" I was so worried. I couldn't believe that. I needed to see him.

Caitlyn looked at me seriously. She said in a quiet voice, "Y/n, you were in a coma for 14 months." She paused to see my reaction.

My eyes widened. How could I not notice?

"You were in the Hospital for a year, so I asked Dr. Wells if we could take care of you the way we took care of Barry. He agreed and we took you here about two months ago."

I just looked at Caitlyn. There can't be anything worse than the feeling of thinking you were going to leave everyone you loved without a good bye.

"But there's one more thing.. Barry. He's with Iris."

Nevermind.

Nothing can compare to the feeling of your heart being torn in shreds, fed to tigers, and burned in the fire of unwantedness.

"I.. I still have to see him, Cait."
I said as the hurt clearly showed in voice and watery glistening eyes.

"He might be at Jitters." Caitlyn said hesitantly.

I walked out of the medical room and went towards whatever car I could find.

"Here." Caitlyn said as she handed me her car keys. I took them and unlocked her car. The whole ride to Jitters was quiet. I couldn't even hear the heavy breathing coming out of my red burning nose. I was crying for someone who didn't even belong to me.

Once I parked the car, I walked out and opened the door, entering into the crowded coffee shop.

I saw him. Almost immediately. He was sitting down on a high-chair. Watching who-knows-what on his phone.

Iris caught his attention as she walked towards some other tables. She walked towards a group of teenagers near me, but she hadn't noticed me. I watched her serve them and turned my head back to Barry.

He noticed.

His eyes were red. As if he was holding back all his tears. He slowly got off his chair and walked towards me. With every step, he grew more impatient and walked fast. I spread my arm and our bodies clashed together in a deep and powerful hug. As he lifted my body off the floor, he began to sob. "I thought I lost you. I miss you so much, Y/n." After a few more seconds of the best hug I've ever received, he looked at me. This look was different though, I've never seen that glint in his eyes. Iris must've made him so happy, I told myself as I looked at his handsome features. He was still crying, so I cupped his face, "Hey, why are you crying?"

"I seriously thought I was going to lose my best friend."

Moment ruined.

I let go of his cheeks and put my hands awkwardly in the front pockets of my sweats.

"Where is Iris?" I asked, trying to change this hurtful topic, with an even worse topic.

Before he could answer, we both heard a loud gasp. "Y/N!!"

Barry turned around and saw Iris pase towards me. She gave me a huge hug. I was facing Barry, while Iris was facing the door. When I hugged her back, I could see this loving smile from Barry's face. Of course, she really made him this happy.

"Hi, Iris. I miss you so much." I say, as I let go of the hug and hold her forearm.

"I miss you so much more, Y/n/n. I'm so glad you're awake." I smiled and let her get back to work.
Barry looked at me intensively. "How did you parents react?"

I looked at him shocked. "I... I haven't told them yet.."

There was an awkward silence between us.

Finally I punched his arm playfully.

"Ouch! What was that for?" He asked as he rubbed his arm.

I smiled and said, "You got your dream girl, bud." I punched him again on his unprotected arm.

"Ouch! Stop, Y/n/n! That hurts." He says smiling and blushing.

I laughed, "How did it happen?"

"Well, when I woke up, I knew I had to check up on Iris. So, I did. We hugged and when we let each other go we both leaned in for a nice kiss. Everything else happened after that. How did you find out, Y/n/n?"

Every word spoken broke my heart into smaller pieces. He won't ever be mine and I have to realize that he won't love me the way he loves her. So, I will be as happy as I can for him.

"Oh, Caitlyn told-" before I could answer I felt a huge wave of pain pass through me. My eyes closed and I collapsed, but the fall was soft and warm. Unlike when I fall on the ground.

I woke up back on the medical lab. I feel a cold metal slap on the inward side of my elbow. The cold feeling made me hiss in shock.

"What the heck happened, Y/n? I thought you were fine." Caitlyn talked as she moved the stethoscope towards my chest. I moved towards her and let her examine my vitals.

It was quiet. Intense.
"You can't scare me like that.. You're getting me worried." Caitlyn said quietly. She looked at my results.

That's when I realized.

"Caitlyn, where is Ronnie?"

"He's... not here.." She said, in a sad, hurt voice.

"Where is he?"

....

"Caitlyn, where is he?"

....

"Caitlyn! Where-"

"He died! Okay?! He died risking his life to save us! To fix everything!"

Her eyes were on me. I could clearly see the heartbreak in her eyes. I could see the hole in her heart, just by the way she spoke.

"What happened, Cait?" I said calmly.

"I told him not to go, but he said he knew what he was doing.."

She was traumatized. I could tell.
At this moment, I realized that the particle accelerator changed our lives forever.
