I Swear This Time I Mean It - lashton

'Why do we have to get ready anyway?', he mumbled to himself and I shrugged.

'Good question.'

'We have an interview, got told about it this morning.', answered Calum and I nodded.

We both got ready and one hour later we both were ready and had eaten breakfast already. We left to the interview and I suddenly noticed that we'd probably be asked about our relationship.

'Hey are you okay?', asked Ashton near my ear, his breath hitting my face, making me shiver shortly.

'Yeah.'

'You look scared.', he noted and I nodded.

'About?', he kept pressing for answers and I eventually gave in and told him about me fearing they'd ask too many questions about us or that they wouldn't accept us. He nodded, understanding where I was coming from and then kissed my cheek.

'Don't worry too much. If they ask questions, we'll answer them and if they don't accept us, then fuck them it's not our problem,now is it?'

'Okay...', I replied quietly and he smiled.

'Love you Lukey, you're mine and no one can change that.', he whispered quietly so the others wouldn't hear and I grinned at his words.

'Yours. Love you too Ash.', I answered and we shared a short kiss. 

15 minutes later we arrived and went inside to greet the interviewers. They seemed friendly and didn't look homophobic, but people don't have 'homophobic' written on their foreheads, do they?! I nervously sat down next to Ashton and he squeezed my hands shortly.

'You'll be fine.' I nodded in response and put on  a smile for the interviewers. And thus it started....

They talked about a lot of things before they started speaking about Ash and I.

'Now let's talk about two of you boys specifically. If I got that right Ashton and Luke are together, am I right?', she asked still smiling and I nodded relived. 

'How's it going? How are the fans taking it?' 

'Some are happy, because they've wanted it to happen for quite some time, some are happy because we are, some don't care and some hate us for us. You've got a little bit from everything, I guess.', answered Ash and I nodded agreeing, glad he was the one to speak up.

'We are really happy together though, so we don't really care about what people think of us.', I added and her smile grew. 

'I'm glad you think like this, I don't understand why people can't at least accept it.' 

'Tell me about it.', I said and we all laughed. 

'Anything else the fans should know about? The newly found couple or anything else?' 

'No not really, I think we've covered everything.', answered Calum and we all agreed and eventually said goodbye to her. She wished us good luck and we went back to the car and headed back to the bus. 

'That went pretty well didn't it?', noted Michael and I agreed. 

'Yeah I expected it to be much worse.' 

'Things never turn out to be as bad as we expect them to be.', said Calum and I gasped jokingly. 

'And this ladies and gents was 'Wise Words With Calum Hood'. Thank you and goodnight.', I responded chuckling and we all bursted into laughter. 

'Oh shut up guys', managed Calum to breath out and we slowly went back to normal. 

 'So what are we gonna do for the remainder of the day?', asked Ashton and we shrugged.

'Keep writing I guess, gotta start on the second album.', answered Michael and we agreed.

'We had thought about another EP. What do you two think?', I said and looked at Calum and Michael for any sort of reaction.

'Which song?'

'18, sounded like a good one but doesn't really matter.', I answered smiling and they agreed, saying that we should talk to John. Then we all parted ways, Ashton getting his notebook and sitting down on the couch, Michael and Calum going out to get ideas and I went to the back of the bus with my guitar, trying to continue the song I had started.

Which was hard since I had major writers block. But then I started thinking about Ashton and I. It was so unexpected and I didn't think he'd want to be with me. Afterwards, thinking about it, I should have told him sooner, maybe I could have prevented a few of the things that had happened. But still the way it is now, I'm so happy that everything is fine and stable. My thoughts got interrupted by a knock on the door frame. I looked up at Ashton and raised an eyebrow.

'I thought you were writing?'

'Needed a break, what about you? Got anything done?'

'Actually I'm almost finished.'

'Really? Impressive. Can I hear?'

'Um yeah like I start with the chorus, you know that one already and then first verse goes like this:

It started innocent enough, with a day just like any other

Woke up late and running behind

Americano on the corner, she came without a warning

Knocked my drink all over me

She said 'Sorry I was rushing and I gotta get to work'

After that I didn't hear a single word she said

I was caught off-guard by her turquoise eyes

I knew right then I had to make her mine

'And um yeah, then chorus and second verse, I thought something like this:

Turned out my pocket, a crumpled up paper she gave me the day before

A scribbled message and a number, said 'Call Me Later'

Who am I to keep her waiting?

So without hesitation I sat down, started contemplating

If I wait to call her would it be too late?

I'm starting at the phone, but I don't know what I'd say

Something about this girl drives me crazy

'Yep and then repeat like the first verse but change it up a bit lyrically wise, so it continues the story, then maybe chorus again two times or one I don't know yet. What do you think?'

'I think that we could immediately record it and release it like it is.', he answered grinning and I mirrored his expression.

'Really?'

'Yeah it's that good.'

'I had hoped it would be, I actually like it a lot myself. What about your song?'

'Got a bridge but like I need an Outro but I'm stuck there and have no idea except like some loose lyrics, maybe I should talk to Michael, he's kinda good with that stuff.'
