It was 21. December and my first class for today is with my father. It was quite cold today and we were all sitting close together in the classroom for Potions warming ourselves with any spell that we could think of.
Very soon my father came, he was right on time as always. He started his lesson, as usual, the only difference was that he looked different than usual. He was wearing the scarf I bought for him last year for his birthday.
'He is finally wearing it.' I wasn't able to contain my smile and Draco didn't fail to notice that.
As I forgot to mention, he and I are now partners for this class. After the prank, my father decided that Hermione is not good enough to be my partner in the class. He said how I was wasting my potential by being with her, so he set me up with Draco.
I think that he just didn't want to give Gryffindor points.
Draco tapped me on the shoulder. "Why are you smiling like that? You look like a lunatic." His statement was followed by the circular motion of his wrist close to his head.
"Ha ha very funny." I rolled my eyes. "Just pay attention to the class.''
He raised both of his hands in defense and switched his gaze towards the book.
Today we were doing the Wiggenweld potion, and as with every other potion, my father has already taught me how to brew it. It was an easy task for me but I could see how Draco was constantly looking back and forth between the book and the cauldron, clearly confused with what was I doing. I could clearly hear him mumbling the instructions over and over.
"1. Add salamander blood until the potion turns red.
2. Stir until the potion turns orange.
3. Add more salamander blood, this time until it turns yellow.
5. Stir until the potion turns green.
6. Add more salamander blood, until the potion turns turquoise.
7. Heat until it turns indigo.
8. Add more salamander blood until the potion turns pink.
9. Heat until the potion turns red.
10. Add five lionfish spines.
11. Heat until the potion turns yellow.
12. Add five more lionfish spines.
13. Add flobberworm mucus, until the potion turns purple.
14. Stir until it turns red.
15. Add more flobberworm mucus, this time until it turns orange.
16. Stir till it turns yellow.
17. Add Honey water until it turns back to a turquoise color.
18. Add another few drops of boom berry juice.
19. Stir the potion again, then let it simmer for thirty minutes.
20. Take the potion away from the heat and allow it to cool, when it is cool it's ready for use."
After the fifth time of his repetition, I decided to explain to him some slight changes that I choose to make with this potion. After a few minutes, he finally started to trust me a little and we started working as a team.
The class come to an end with no minor problems, only a few small explosions happened, but that was a usual thing that was happening whenever we have a class with Gryffindor. They just don't have any talent for potion-making.
Time for checking the finished product came, and soon my father arrived at Draco's and mine table. But before he was close enough Draco muttered to me " This potion was a bloody rainbow, I really hope that we did the job right. " Even though he was clearly concerned about the task his face remained calm and collected.
