hi guys, it's your author WOOSARCHIVES here! oh my god this is like the third intro chapter i've written in a month — which means along with this book, there's three books in the progress of writing and im not sure if any of them are ever going to be published haha.
anyways, like i said in the disclaimer, this myth is a myth i grew up with and learnt a lot about. we even had to do a play in front of the whole school (yikes) based on this myth so i can quite confidently say that i know most, if not all the details of this myth. obviously, i did research to make sure these details i remember are correct but if there are any inaccuracies at all, i deeply apologise!
also, before anyone comes @ me and says 'don't use other cultures as a blueprint for your story', i'm 100% chinese. so i'm just sharing the myth of where i come from (sorta) and am letting more people know the stories we grow up with. i've had this idea of basing a woosan story on a chinese myth for the longest time but all the myths are so... generic and short. this is the only one i could sort of spin off of and make it my own. so, yeah!
again, you don't need to know the myth in order to understand the story since i'd be going through the myth anyway in the first few chapters just so any non-chinese & people who never heard of it would understand. and, as always, expect an angsty ending <3
