-Kylo's POV-
You peeled her from your embrace, gently setting her on the pillows beside you careful not to wake her. You took the image of her face into your subconscious, you didn't want to forget this moment. Her hair was gently disheveled around her complexion, her lips in a gentle pout, her cheeks a rosy red, her lashes dusting against her cheeks. You slightly run your finger over her lips before bending downward and kissing them softly. Though you had high hopes for the meeting with the supreme leader, you couldn't shrug off the feeling of nervousness that created a pit in your stomach. You reached over to your nightstand and felt the hilt of your saber, your thoughts becoming clear in your mind, 'protect her, no matter what. Protect her.'
You stood and lazily pulled each layer of your suit on before you attached your saber against your hip loosely, prepared to use it if necessary. You held your helmet to your side and took one last look of Lyra who was still nuzzled up in bed. You wanted to return to her, you were going to return to her, and she was going to be safe. As you begin to walk toward the door of your quarters you turn swiftly and press your hand against the keypad and with the click of a few buttons you set the door to not be able to open inside or out without your handprint. If Lyra tried to leave and found out that she couldn't, you figured that she'd understand. You were willing to take every precaution possible.
The door to your quarters sliced open as you pulled your helmet back over your head hiding your face behind the identity that the dark side placed upon you. The sound of your boots slamming on the ground echoed around you, the familiarity easing your nerves as you made your way to the throne room.
The heavy doors welcomed you as you approached, revealing the cleanness and darkness of the room before you. You'd never been nervous to enter the space before, you've never had a reason to be. Immediately your eyes found Hux who stood happily next to the throne that wrapped around the Supreme Leader who had barely noticed you'd arrived. A smug smile split across Hux's face as he noticed you stepping into the room, 'asshole' you thought.
"My apprentice, it's so nice to finally have you" Snoke's voice cracked from this throat. His ice blue eyes burn into yours through your helmet, his grey skin placed over his frame like a loose sheet, "General Hux has informed me that you have important news to share with the empire, I've been looking forward to it."
You continued your stride towards his throne with confidence, any sliver of weakness and this all could go wrong. If Snoke becomes aware of the change in you, the overwhelming questioning that had filled your soul the moment you let Lyra in, she'd be seen as problematic for sure. The knights would be ordered to kill her, or worse, you'd be ordered to kill her. Just like you'd killed your father. Your hands tightened into fists as you reached just a few feet in front of the supreme leader. You bent down on one knee and lifted your helmet off of your neck, placing it carefully on your bent knee as you bowed your head to him.
"Supreme, I've come across a very valuable asset to the empire."
"Ah, so you have? And what is that?"
"The slave girl, daughter of the traders."
"Daughter of the traders, a valuable asset. How peculiar, explain."
"She has valuable information about the traders, she's brought us closer to finding them than anyone else has. She's more than willing to give all of the information that she's gathered as well, she's filled with hatred toward the rebellion and all involved. I've also come to find out that she's force sensitive...she's strong, my leader" you presented yourself factually knowing one wrong slip of emotion could be the end of her life.
"And how have you come to gather all of this information, my apprentice?" he asked, his long hands wrapping around the arm wrests of his chair.
"She's been placed under my order, my assistant. The force has been bending around her for weeks, she's displayed her powers at random. At the last meeting she showed everyone she's more than willing to give information on our targets, as well, isn't that right general Hux?"
You watched with pleasure as Hux's face crinkled in annoyance. He tucked both of his hands behind his back and folded them, taking a deep breath before resting his face back into his cocky, unreadable expression.
"That is correct supreme leader, she did present information without questioning or hesitation."
"And she's sensitive with the force, filled with hatred for the rebellion...potential. I don't have time to educate someone from scratch. Kylo Ren, my apprentice, I feel as though this may be time for your next test. You shall teach her and prepare her enough to become under my league. I want her to be good, worthy of my time. Worthy to work for the Empire. You have three months. In those three months her parents must be brought into our custody and your little assistant must be worthy of showcasing her abilities before me, skillfully. If these two things fail to happen she will be eliminated, a waste of time and resources of the empire. Do I make myself clear?"
"Y-yes my league, they'll be handled. She'll be ready."
"Good. Oh, and let this be the only warning, a weakness to you is a weakness toward the empire and it will be eliminated. Keep that in your mind, Kylo Ren".
"I have no weaknesses, all of them have perished under my own hands."
"We shall see. Your grandfather was thought to have no weaknesses as well."
The comment about your grandfather stung you deeply. You were well aware what aspects became the downfall of Darth Vader. His love for his children, his love for his wife. Lyra was the one thing that you had been warned about the moment you were given the title of Kyo Ren. She was a weakness. Your weakness. And if anyone found out about it, she would have to be killed. Just like your father.
You clench your teeth and let the anger fuel your thoughts as you spit out, "My grandfather was weak and not worthy of his position. I fully believe that his true purpose was to be the father to my mother and for her to create me. I will be the true face of the empire. I won't let you or the empire down my supreme" you nod your head before standing once again, placing your helmet back over your face and shrouding any questionable emotion that may slip through. You let the feeling of rage override your mind, allowing Snoke to feel the anger radiating through you.
"Ah, my apprentice. Always growing with me as your guide. Go and start training her. See that this is not a mistake of judgement on my part" Snoke hissed, and with that you bowed to him once more and quickly began to stride out of the throne room and back toward your quarters with the strongest feeling of relief you had ever endured.
