Time [Ace x Reader]

Ace's POV

*Boom*
A flick of my finger and a large ball of fire soared through the sky.

"It seems you have improved again."

Glout's hearty voice boomed through the air. Smiling I flicked my sweaty hair out of my face, turning to look at my mentor. It had been thanks to him that I had managed to live up to my name again. 'Fire Fist Ace' it had been a while since I had last been called by my wanted poster alias.
Now it wouldn't be too long until it could happen again.
The world will go crazy when they find out that I'm still alive.

Y/N had really prepared for everything. Now I could truly return to my old pirate life. Not even my fighting style would have to be different than what I was known for. Then again I was already accustomed to the new techniques Y/N and Lou had pounded into me. So whilst I could fight with fire again. I probably wouldn't fight like the old me. I was stronger now. Way stronger.
I can't believe that it's time already.
Patting my giant teacher on the back I happily replied to his approval:

"Of course. Today is the day afterall."

It was the day where I would have to leave this island. The day I would get to see Y/N again. Twirling my fingers around the necklace Y/N had given me, I anticipated the next hours, a strange feeling bubbling within me.
I had had enough time. I knew what I was going to do. But what would Y/N's reaction be? How would this end?
I had lamented over the possibilities for months. But in the end I could never predict what would happen. Afterall life loved to throw curve balls at me. Anything was possible. Still my decision was set. Everything else would be up to destiny.
Just one thing was clear. The next hours would change my life.
Time to head to shore.

Y/N's POV

"Lou, can you see anything yet?!"

For the hundredth time in the past hour I shouted up to the little fairy that had fled my pacing steps to go on lookout duty. Annoyed she flew down from the crows nest, jabbing her fingers at me, demanding:

"I will tell you when land is in sight. Stop asking every ten seconds. You will make me loose my mind. Or go up there yourself if you can't calm down. I won't answer you anymore. Really you are acting like child who is about to meet their favourite superhero."

"Sounds about right."

I agreed, laughing as I swung myself up the ropes, hopping onto the roof of the crows nest to have the best view.
I was super excited. Soon I would be able to see Ace again, the person I had missed dearly for six months now.
However I couldn't help but feel nervous. Our last exchange wasn't very harmonious. Was Ace still mad? What if he still didn't want to see me?

"Calm down. It will be fine."

The snow white haired fairy said, sitting down next to me. Despite the brash sound of her words she had a gentle smile on her face.

"The pirate boy won't push you away. Not if he still looks at you the way he used to."

"Stop, you're giving me too much hope."

"I'm just stating the facts."

Laughing I gazed at the horizon. Soon a large rock would appear there and then another and another and then... Then I would finally stand face to face with Ace.

3rd Person POV

Nothing seemed unusual the second time the Luz landed on the island inhabited by the giant Glout. The ocean was calm, gentle waves washing to the stoney shore. Fluffy clouds dotted the sky, the usual blue shining through between their white shapes.
Only the weird looking vessel letting down it's anchors formed an anomaly in this deserted landscape.
With a splash the heavy weights secured the Luz to the ocean floor, causing ripples that rushed to shore where they washed around the feet of a young raven haired man.
