The next morning, Shirou is seen in his office watching over Thorne, who was still in his beast form, as he recovered. Inspector Yuki had already dropped by to collect statements, but ultimately, Thorne received no charges, since as far as he was concerned, he was doing the same thing as Shirou was, even if it had a higher body count. The six criminals that escaped disappeared on that night though TSR intelligence points to them planning something big, but were unable to establish what. Mayor Rose and General Beo also came by, the latter apologizing for not informing them that they already had an operative already in the city, but it was necessary in order to ensure that the people that Thorne had been hunting were unaware that there was somebody actively looking for them. Michiru points out that that decision almost cost Thorne his life, and Shirou, a beloved sibling. Beo, again apologizes, saying that what happened was a factor they never considered, and that the operation as a whole was being reworked. Thorne then says that his rifle was damaged to the point that it had trouble chambering new rounds during the scuffle, to which Beo tells him that a replacement rifle will be sent to him from the temporary base. Rose asks what TSR plans to do next, Beo replies that after talking with a few advisors, he believes it's prudent to keep both her and Shirou in the loop, as there is no point in hiding since six possibly highly dangerous individuals managed to escape capture last night.

The next day, it is announced that construction of the space elevator is slated to begin. This is met with some protestation from various governments, though the official TSR press release states that due to the oppression faced by beastmen worldwide in addition to the events that had transpired in Animacity five years ago heavily influenced their decision to build the first space elevator there. The spokesperson also adds that, no matter where they go, they'll fight for a better future for beastmen, even if it means puting tanks on city streets. Michiru is watching the broadcast as Shirou and Thorne come into the living room. Thorne asks her if she has some time, to which she says that she does, and asks him why he's asking. He replies that it has to do with the Silver Wolf. Intrigued, Michiru asks him what about it, to which he responds by telling her to meet him on the roof.

On the roof, Thorne asks her if she's aware of the legend behind the Silver Wolf, she responds in the affirmative, but asks him why he's asking her about it. Turning to look out over the city, Thorne replies that to his knowledge, there are two stories, the first one, the one that is known to all beastmen, where the Silver Wolf is a protector of all beastmen, and the second is from the dimension he had come to call home, where the Silver Wolf is known as a defender of peace and synonymous with TSR. Michiru asks him about it, and he tells her that it's the tale of how he survived the First Battle of Montana City.

He starts off by telling her the legend as most people know it: during the War of Reclamation, after the US Military and TSR were forced to withdraw from Montana City due to heavy casualties, a paranormal entity began to stalk the city streets, picking off the soldiers of the occupying warlord one by one. It was said that those that committed atrocities or were performing such deeds were reduced to bloody scraps of flesh. When the military and TSR returned to retake the city, that was when the entity showed itself. A godly being, in the form of a great wolf, joined them in retaking the city, and driving the warlord's forces from the region. For the rest of the War of Reclamation, he continued to assist the PMC's forces in securing the remains of civilization. It is said that in the modern day, there are three Silver Wolves, the original Silver Wolf, the more aggressive and unforgiving Blue Wolf, and the cunning and diplomatic Grey Fox.

Michiru asks why there are three Silver Wolves in the story, to which Thorne tells her that he's getting to that part. He explains that during the First Battle of Montana City, he was among a group of 300 soldiers that fought a rearguard action to let their remaining forces withdraw despite being outnumbered 40 to 1. They fought to the last, giving their lives for the hope for a better future. Afterwards, they were all buried in a mass grave alongside other TSR and US military casualties, numbers estimate at least 10,000 US military and TSR personnel were killed in the battle. Oddly, their blood was able to react with his beastman DNA, resurrecting him. He later found out that Sam, a human he turned into a werekin by accident due to an incident that nobody ever talks about, went through what was described as an awakening event that also turned him into a Silver Wolf entity. This ability was passed onto Jason, an orphan that Sam had adopted after the battle, who became a werekin by choice by asking his adoptive father to bite him, thus transferring the Werekin Curse to him. This was how the three Silver Wolves came to be. Back to his tale, when he came to his senses after his awakening, he vowed to not let the sacrifices of the dead be in vain. Thus, he went on a guerrilla campaign against the occupying forces, doing his best to protect the remaining civilians in the city. As time went on, he became a rallying point for the locals as they fought back against the warlord that controlled the city, eventually revealing himself to the militia during a particularly fierce skirmish. A few days after that, the military and TSR returned, and with the help of the militia and the three Silver Wolf entities, were able to liberate Montana City, with Jason personally putting an end to the warlord of the region. After that, the trio split up as nations started to reclaim their lost lands and once things started to stabilize, they faded into obscurity. That wasn't to say that they still didn't turn up from time to time though, as there are many cases of them revealing themselves in order to turn the tide of battle or to end one.

Michiru asks if people ever asked about their identities, to which Thorne replies that they do, they just give an ambiguous answer every single time. She then asks if the Jason he mentioned was the same one she met four weeks ago, which he confirms, and adds that he's in the same squad as him. Michiru's eyes widen at the realization, but before she can say anything else, Thorne receives a call on his phone, which he excuses himself to answer. At this point Shirou comes onto the roof and tells Michiru that they're needed at the docks, apparently a TSR naval ship spotted a bunch of suspicious boats arriving last night and passed the information onto the police department. Thorne then passes them, laying a hand on Shirou's shoulder, telling them that he's headed to the temporary base at the space elevator site to get his replacement equipment. Shirou asks him if he's replacing every piece of gear he has been using up to this point, which Thorne confirms, adding that the equipment he's picking up happens to be what he usually uses. As his brother disappears down the stairs, Shirou can't help but wonder what his usual equipment looks like. His thoughts are interrupted when Michiru asks him when they're leaving. Remembering the original reason why he came to the roof, he moves towards the stairs with Michiru following closely behind.
