Once John and Arthur got back to the house, the thunder had began cackling louder outside. The longer Tommy was gone the more Sarah's anxiety heightened. This was taking too long, Tommy was taking too long.
Sarah ran over to John and hugged him "Anything?" She asked them both as she guided them to the table.
"Not yet. Where's Tommy?" John asked just as Tommy walked in, his facial expression hard.
"Tom?" Sarah asked but he huffed and looked at Arthur
"Where's Linda?" He demanded throwing his wet coat onto the floor.
"With Esme." Arthur replied sipping on some whiskey.
"Esme's water broke," John told him "I was just with her. Running around, fucking broke her water." He grumbled
"Where is Finn?"
"Out with the young ones, looking for the Riley. We couldn't reach him." Sarah told him, the tension in the air thick.
"I need to know who spoke. Our enemies know everything. Everything. I need to know who spoke about business outside of the family. I need to know who spoke and who they spoke to, now." Tommy demanded, his eyes were wide with panic.
"Tommy, listen... " Arthur began.
"Your wife, Arthur?" Tommy asked, not giving a fuck about offending him.
"I am going to tell myself that you are not thinking straight. Your mind is not clear." Arthur replied, his voice low.
"Or Esme getting cash for cocaine, eh, John?" Tommy accused.
"Fuck you." John spat back in defence of his wife as Tommy turned to look at his sister.
"All of a sudden, back in the family, Ada. Eh? That is a surprise. Out of the blue. On whose orders?" He said staring down at his sister.
Sarah shook her head at him. He was bang out of order and clearly delusional if he thought any of them would betray him, betray the family. Because despite Tommy thinking he's god, this plan backfiring comes back on all of them. They all had something to lose, which is what Arthur and Sarah had told him to begin with.
"What about you, Sarah? You've wanted out for ages? Was this your ticket out of here, eh? Did they offer you something."
"Tommy, this is not helping find him." Polly intervened.
Tommy rounded on his aunt "And you and your painter. You said he knows you. Things developed. You talked." He said raising a questioning eyebrows before looking back at everyone "If anyone has talked about the tunnel to anyone else, I need to know, and I need to know this second." He demanded
"What about your clay kickers? Hmm?Drunk in a pub. Maybe they talked." John pointed out bitterly.
"I'd trust those men with my life." Tommy argued, his voice like venom.
"More than you trust us?" Arthur pressed
"Yes." Tommy replied instantly "As of an hour ago, yes."
John scoffed as his nostrils flared "Why is Michael not in this fucking line-up, anyway?"
"You leave Michael out of this." Polly snapped at her nephew.
"Oh, yeah?" John pushed.
Sarah gnawed at her finger nails nervously. This is the last thing the family needed, they shouldn't be turning on each other right now.
"No, he should be here." Arthur declared.
"I fucking don't even know him. How long you known him? fucking three years?"
