Sarah walked through the smog of Small Heath, her hair in a ponytail under her Peaky hat as she kept her hands In her pockets. Sarah took in the familiar sounds of the factories and steel works around her until she reached the gym. Men only, apparently.

"Oi! You can't be in 'ere!"

One of the men shouted out to her until she looked up and raised her eyebrows at him. Sarah could've sworn he stumbled slightly at the sight of her. Her eyes, her cap, the threatening look on her face where a hint of a smirk was kept. Sarah looked around and took note as some of the men shot her weary glances when they realised who she was.

The owner of the gym politely walked over to her, "Sorry, Miss Crawford. He didn't notice it was you-" sarah tilted her head at him "No, not notice - I meant realise it was you."

Still without uttering a word, sarah looked up indicating to her cap, a way of silently explaining that the blade should've been a giveaway. It was amusing how she hadn't spoke a single word, yet all these men were practically cowering away.

Sarah just stared at the owner until he stepped aside for her to walk through the gym, she paused and looked at her audience "As you were gentleman." She told them.

Sarah heard a few of them let out a sigh of relief over the fact that she was letting them keep their eyes, and the rest of them tried to pretend that they hadn't been scared as they went back to training.

"Looking good boy." Sarah called out to Bonnie as she made a beeline for Aberama, "talented lad you got there, Mr Gold."

"That he is." He replied proudly.

Sarah gave him a smile as she casually took of her Peaky cap, folding it and gripping it tightly "I'd hate for something bad to happen to him."

"What was that?" Aberama asked turning to face her, but she didn't answer with words instead she took him off guard by dragging him by the collar into the store room.

"I know, I fucking know everything." She snapped, her hand fisted into her cap so that she could aim her blade to the corner of his mouth if he dared to try and argue with her.

"You know everything?" He asked in a mocking tone before letting out a laugh "I doubt that very much."

"I know enough." She hissed as she pushed the blade into his skin slightly, not enough to maim just enough to lightly nip at his skin, "you're not going to tell anyone, do you understand?"

"Miss Crawford, I've been carrying this secret around for over thirty years-"

"Until now." She pointed out

"Actually I didn't tell you anything."

"No, you just implied it, and if I could figure it out then you can guarantee Tommy will as well."

"You underestimate yourself Miss Crawford."

"Just keep your mouth shut. I know it may not seem like it these days, but if I tell Tommy to do something, such as dropping the gypsy lad from sport, then he will." Sarah wasn't completely sure that she believed the words that were coming out of her mouth, but Tommy usually trusted her judgment, just not always straight away.

Sarah studied his expression before slowly pulling her blade from the corner of his mouth.

"I didn't even know he existed until your mother was carrying you."

"I don't need to hear this-"

"Then I saw your father with him at a fair, and I thought, I know those eyes, for they are mine." He said with a click of his tongue.
