4 - Something to work with.

He always took his orders seriously. Tucking the paper in his pocket, Dylan walked back to the car to see Griffin already slipping out. He smiled when their eyes met.

"You can relax now, I'm done. Let's go." He slipped into the backseat of the car smoothly and waited for Griffin to compose himself.

After letting out a relieved sigh, Griffin resumed his position in the driver seat then started the car. "How was it? Did you get your information?" Griffin asked as they eased into the New York traffic.

Leaning his head back, Dylan sighed and mumbled, "Yes."

"So, what did you get?" Griffin glanced briefly at Dylan through the rear mirror whose eyes were closed, his slender neck exposed, as his chin tilted upward in a relaxed posture.

Dylan peeled his eyes open and fished out the paper from his pocket. Adjusting himself, he sat straight to finally take in the content. Anger flared through him at the words he saw there. "What the actual —"

Griffin's horn overpowered the sound of his voice, drowning out the rest of the sentence. "I believe you weren't expecting what you saw."

Dylan exhaled as he calmed himself down. "Sure wasn't, he gave me only a name. What am I supposed to do with a name?"

Griffin silently chuckled. This was the first time his boss had been tricked at his own game. "Surprised you didn't check before letting him go. What's the name?"

Dylan kneaded the space between his eyebrows as he resumed his earlier position, closing his eyes. "Stacey. Stacey Blasi."

Stacey rolled her eyes as she propped her chin between her hands watching Juliet pace in front of her. The rays of the sun were at her pillow when this started, now it reached the foot of the bed and she was still at it.

Stacey wondered why she was even here, it was not like she had a social media account where she tweeted that she had gotten a new hairstyle or posted a pic of her new hairstyle. Then recalled she had showed up unannounced at her doorstep clad in her work T-shirt, a brown jacket and a frown. Stacey wasn't surprised to see her because she had left Juliet back at work, which was something she never did.

"Why?" Juliet exclaimed for the seventh time. "Why would you cut your hair?"

"Because I wanted to," Stacey replied briskly, rolling her eyes again. Juliet had been asking this question since she noticed her hair; the moment she had pulled the door open.

"Why would you?" Juliet repeated, exasperated, as she ran her hands through her hair. "You have a job tomorrow, you are getting a new client and you decide to cut your hair."

"Yes, now get over it," Stacey calmly replied then walked over to the kitchen to get a bottle of water, leaving Juliet in the room. It didn't really take long since her apartment was like an upgraded matchbox, but a matchbox nonetheless.

"I can't, Stacey. I thought graduation was going to be the last!" she shouted as she fell into a defeated position on the bed, making a oomph sound.

"You thought so. Your thoughts. I never said I was going to stop," Stacey answered as she walked back into the room, then returned to take a seat at her desk, dropping the bottle on the table.

Juliet had taken a position in the middle of her bed and was now hugging a pillow to herself. Stacey wasn't surprised she was this passionate about it.

Juliet had long blonde hair that reached up to her waist. It was something she was proud of and believed added to the beauty and austere of women. But Stacey also believed Juliet added another meaning to it when it came to her.
