Ammolite : steven universe x reader

Before you start I would like to say.. this is a fairly new book. please upvote if you like because i strive off of validation 😃

I was never good at making friends. That was until I met him. Steven Universe. He was different. I couldn't tell why.

My family and I moved to beach city when I was 14. I kept to myself for so long, then I ran into him. I remember it like it was yesterday..

I remember my parents telling me to go out and make friends. My parents are very supportive of everything I do, they aren't too strict and I know they love me.

I went out to the boardwalk looking at all the different shops. This place is a lot different then back home. Then I saw him. His dark blue jeans above his salmon colored flip-flops. He wore a red-ish pink shirt with a big yellow star plastered in the middle of it. I could tell he was a good looking guy. He then saw me looking at him and approached me.

"Hi! I don't think i've seen you before, which is surprising because I know everyone in this town. What's your name?" Said the curly haired brunette boy.

"Oh I'm y/n, I'm kinda new here. What's your name?" I replied back.

"I'm Steven! My best friend Lars said there's a party tonight you should come!" he replied.. he really is giddy one.

"Thanks, but I don't know.." I said.

Long story short I ended up going to the party, I mean who wouldn't. I spent the whole time with Steven because he was the only person I knew. after that we became really good friends. That brings me to now.

I've been friends with Steven for almost 7 months now. I know he deals with magic and enemies and I'm still scared about all that stuff. I don't fully understand it and that terrifies me. If something bad happens, Im helpless. Steven is so strong and that's what I like about him. Steven hasn't talked to me in almost 2 days. That's a new record ever since we both got phones. Last time we talked he said something about some gem coming to earth named "Peridot" I think. I'm worried for him.

I decide to go to his house. What if something bad happened? I walk up the stairs to his beach house, and knock on the door. No one answers for a second so I knock again. Suddenly I hear footsteps approaching and a thump. I think someone just fell. The door opens and Stevens there with an awkward smile plastered on his face.

"Hello y/n! what brings you around here?" Steven says his cheeks tinted pink.

"Steven.." I start, "did you fall on your way here?" I finish with a small chuckle.

Steven, obviously guilty, says "I don't know what you're talking about lady." Yeah okay.

"Why haven't you replied to my texts? I've been worried." I say furrowing my h/c brows.
"I'm sorry y/n, I've just been really busy." He says honestly, he opens up the door inviting me in. We both sit down on the couch to talk. "That gem is still out there and she knows we're here. Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet are all scared, and to be honest, so am I"

"Hey, you're Steven Universe! you guys have nothing to be scared of!" I smile at him, he gives a fake smile back. I'm not very good at consoling people, I never have been and probably never will be. "Well i'm getting a bit hungry, I'm in a donut-ty mood" I say with a smirk.

He lets out a short chuckle and says "You're such a dork." I chuckle back.

With that we're both on our feet heading out. It's not a very long walk from his house to the Big Donut. We walk in to see Sadie and Lars both behind the counter. Does anyone else work here or is it just them?

"Hey Steven! Hey y/n!" Sadie calls to us with her blonde hair pulled back into a low ponytail.
"Hey Sadie! Hi Lars." Steven and I say almost in unison.
