While Luz and Amity had yet to work out a designated day for date night, they still did their best to make sure that they took one day out of the week to spend some proper time together. Whether it be going out in the human world, walking the markets and admiring what new strange things the vendors had to sell that week in the Boiling Isles, or watching a movie at any given place of the three locations they could (Luz's mom's house, the Owl House, or Amity's Manor), it didn't matter. This week, however, Luz had insisted on having Amity watch a few of her favorite movies at the Owl House. So that's what they were doing, cuddled up on the couch under a blanket with snacks and movies piled up on the coffee table before them. Luz was reclined against the arm of the couch with Amity on top of her, arms wrapped around her gently as they gazed at the television screen. They were just finishing up their second movie of the evening. The duo were dressed in pajamas, as they had planned for Amity to spend the night.
"So.. is there any particular reason why she didn't look at the tunnel in that crawlspace, shut and lock the door back, and nope the fuck out of there?" Amity asked, gesturing at the TV as the credits started to scroll.
Luz shrugged. "I dunno. I mean, if I were her age, I probably would've inspected it, too." She smiled. "After all, inspecting strange phenomenon is what brought me here to the Boiling Isles in the first place. And I was basically her age when that happened."
"Right, except it worked out in your favor." Amity said. "You got a mentor, friends, a girlfriend, and got to learn magic." She pointed to the television again. "While all she got was some crazy imposter bitch trying to kill her."
"Touche." Luz chuckled. "But let's not forget how you were totally okay with killing me the first time we met."
Amity looked at her with feigned offense. "I wasn't going to kill you."
"And that emphasis on the 'I' makes it all better, Miss 'dissect the human and prove that Willow is faking so I can have my badge back.'" Luz said.
"I didn't say any of that." Amity huffed.
"No, but that's the basis of what happened." Luz said. "And you definitely did say, and I quote, 'I want my badge.' Just more angry and evil-like."
"Fuck you."
"Is that an offer?" Luz cocked an eyebrow with that smug grin she almost always wore when messing with Amity.
Amity rolled her eyes and pushed herself up off Luz's body. "You're impossible." The two shifted around so Amity could sit up properly and the greenette stretched, shrugging off the blanket and groaning quietly at the satisfying pull in her muscles to get rid of the fatigue. When she lowered her arms, she looked at the table ripe with their snacks of choice, some of Luz's favorite human food that Amity liked as well, and some of what few 'mildly strange' things the Isles had to offer and Luz could tolerate. Amity sighed when her eyes fell on the empty bottle of apple blood on the table. "Looks like we're out of the apple blood." she noted. She looked at Luz, who was in the process of trying to crack her neck. "Does Eda have any more?"
"She should." Luz said, craning her neck the other way. "You can go and check. I'll replace it tomorrow if I have to."
With a nod, Amity got up and made her way to the kitchen and across to the fridge. She opened it up and bent down to peer inside, mumbling to herself as she scanned the contents of the refrigerator until her eyes fell upon what she was searching for. With a small smile she reached in a grabbed the carton and shut the fridge back, returning to the living room where Luz was shifting through the movies she'd brought from her mother's.
"Which one do you wanna watch next?" the human asked when Amity entered. She held up two cases for Amity to see. She held up one case a little higher than the other. "We could watch this one, which is basically a horror movie about a human that befriends a girl he doesn't know is a vampire. Or," - she raised the other movie - "we could watch this one, which is a comedy about a group of acapella girls that are basically trying to... well, find their sound for lack of better words. It's a little ironic in a funny way."
