Lily's head was hung as she entered your shared bedroom after a rough day.

You were sitting on the bed with the remote in your hand, only to drop it as soon as you saw her.

Before she arrived home, your only focus was trying to pass the time and entertain yourself.

But now, all you care about is spending some time with your girl and cheering her up, as she looked quite sad.

"Lily? Everything okay?"

She lifted her head and stared at you, forcing a smile as she nodded.

But you can tell she's feeling down.

The last few days haven't been easy but she'd happily admit that they've been much better than they could be because you've been by her side through them all.

You got out of bed, a sad sigh falling from your lips as she walked across the room so you could pull her into your arms.

She closed her eyes as soon as you put your arms around her. It only took a second or two for her to melt into your warmth and the smell of your perfume, both things bringing her the comfort she's needed today.

She wrapped her arms around you and kept her eyes closed as you rubbed her back and held her tight, trying to whisper comforting words in her ear to remind her that she was home now and everything was okay.

It worked, as always. She found herself smiling a little and even brushed her lips against your neck to give you a few sweet kisses.

"I love you so much."

"I love you too." She said back to you.

You held her for a few more seconds before you tried to pull away. You didn't plan on leaving her side. You only wanted to lead her to the bed and let her get some rest and to offer to get her something to eat or drink.

But she had no intention of letting you go, no matter what reasons you had.

When you went to pull away, she only held you tighter as a whine fell from her lips.

"Lily?" You chuckled as she laid her cheek on your shoulder and brushed her fingers across your back. "Babe? Are you going to let go?"

"No."

You just laughed and began to rub her back once more while you kissed the crown of her head.

"Come on, sweet girl. Let me go so I can get you some food or anything else you might need."

"I've got all I need right here, right now."

You playfully rolled your eyes although there was no way that you could deny it; her words made your heart flutter uncontrollably.

"Lily? Wouldn't you rather cuddle than stand here?"

She thought about it for a second before agreeing.

You thought she'd let you go, but she just walked you backward until you reached the bed, so she wouldn't have to let go for even a second.

She hovered over you as you put your head on the pillows. Laying her head on your chest, she hummed happily as she held you tightly and listened to your heartbeat.

"Are you comfortable?"

"Yes." She replied, her words muffled by your shirt. "And happier than I've been all day."

You couldn't even try and pull away anymore. You both knew that you didn't want that.

"You make everything better." She whispered as her worries and stresses faded while she stayed close to you. "You're all I need."

"I'm happy to hear you say that because you know I feel the same." You softly spoke back to her as you slipped your hand beneath her hoodie to caress her skin, fingertips brushing against the small of her back.

"I love you more than you'll ever know, y/n." She said and moved her head so she could stare up into your eyes, her heart skipping a beat upon seeing the sparkle in them.

"And I love you, even more, my girl. Always."

She didn't even try to argue. She just smiled at you and tapped her lips, wordlessly telling you that she wanted a kiss, which you happily gave her.

When she pulled away, she let out a contented sigh and put her forehead on your shoulder, swearing that she's happier than ever just by being wrapped in your arms and in this moment with you.
