A small alien was standing on the roof with his disguise off. He had extended his pak legs behind him for balance. Other than that, you couldn't quite tell what he was doing.

"Do you see that, (Y/N)?!" Dib pointed towards the rooftop. "That's Zim! That's a real extraterrestrial lifeform!"

He clarified after seeing that your only response was a smile, "An alien. Zim's an alien."

"I can see that." You tried not to sound rude. You weren't the best with words. "Hi, Zim!"

"Eh?" He turned in your direction.

Dib seemed frustrated that you called out to Zim. Now there was no way he'd be able to take a picture of him for proof. He was also a bit suspicious of how friendly you seemed to the alien. Zim was just as skeptical. He shouted at first, alarmed that another human had seen him without his disguise.

Zim shouted some more in attempts of convincing you that he was, in fact, an entirely normal human 'wormchild.' You chuckled. You had forgotten that nobody knew you were from a different reality. A reality in which theirs was only a cartoon. And a movie and comics. Dib, meanwhile, was desperately trying to convince you against Zim's arguments.

Neither of them had much social awareness. You laughed a little more and announced that you already knew. You weren't sure whether to be offended that both seemed surprised and doubtful.

"You...knew that...?" Dib asked as if he was having trouble grasping the concept.

"Lies!" If you were writing this as a story, you'd have had to hold back from typing it in all-caps. Zim was louder in person.

"How could anyone see through Zim's brilliant disguise? I mean-eh- Not see. I'm wearing a disguise right now, yes. That's why I look like an alien invader- which I am not."

"You're a terrible liar, Zim."

"Lies!"

"How long have you known? Why didn't you say anything?"

Now it was your turn to distract from the sweat rolling down your face. "I...found out just now. Zim's not wearing a disguise. How would I not know?"

"I suppose that makes sense..." For a moment, you worried that he might have noticed your hesitation. "Ha! See Zim? You're not going to last a week against (Y/N) and me!"

- .. -- . -....- ... -.- .. .--.

You may have forgotten to tell Zim that you weren't trying to fight him. Although neither Zim nor Dib would understand, it was in your best interests to be impartial. The one thing you wanted was a way home. You didn't even want to go home yet.

The only people you know who could help you with that were Dib and Zim. If you were fighting one of them and the other didn't know how to help, you'd have no way out. They wouldn't fully trust you, whether you were impartial or not.

If you had your way, at least you might have more options. If one plan fails, you can move to another. Not to mention, you'd get to talk to almost all the characters in the show if you want. You'd have both the Membrane family and 'The Swollen Eyeball' and the entirety of Irken Society and Zim's sidekicks.

You might even get to cook with Gir as Keef did. Except you'd have permission and wouldn't be an obsessive creep. You could introduce them to Latino food, maybe even bake some pão de queijos. Even thinking of those heavenly cheese buns, warm and fresh out of the oven, made your mouth water.
