Four POV

Trapped by our friends, forced to go to Golf Ball's underground factory, we continued venturing more profound in the building. "I don't feel good here. Whatever is going on with them is between them. We need to continue our path and find them." I said and opened one door. We entered and saw random recommended characters who were strangled, murdered, or committed suicide. "She was the one who created HER!" "Golf Ball MUST die!", "Just die already, Golf Ball!" The bloody signs read in rooms we entered and soon exited. The most disturbing of all rooms was the one where Blocky was murdered. "Even a character who has been in Battle for Dream Island can't escape HER grasp! Rest in peace, Blocky." The bloody sign on the floor read. Then the door behind us closed by itself. I tried to open it but to no avail. I tried to break the windows, but nothing happened. "What is happening?!" Liy said and looked at the window. Blocky then awoke, and we froze in fear. "Welcome to my twisted circus, friends! Ahahahahaha! Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" He said distortedly and glitched. I didn't know what to do. I flashed my flashlight at him, and he disappeared. "Four, what have you done?!" "I just flashed him with my flashlight!" "Four?!" "Look, I just panicked, and this was the only thing I could think of!" We argued when suddenly, Blocky reappeared with X and Loser. X's smile wasn't the same, neither were the others'. "X, what happened to you?!" I asked him and backed away slowly. He grabbed the sabre from the wall and pointed it at me. "I am bettered, Four! And I am better than ever!" He replied as I dodged his sabre swing. "Being better doesn't mean to kill your best friend, X!" "Shut up and let me pierce you, please?" He replied to me. I continued to dodge his attacks. "Come on the board of liars!" Loser said, ready to run straight towards us. "Four, do you have any ideas of how do we to dodge this?!" Liy asked me. I dodged X's attack and replied, "I am trying to think of something while avoiding my death, Liy!" "Like I am not trying to avoid my death?!" She responded.

I dodged the attack and quickly made a plan. "Follow my lead, Liy! I have a plan to escape!" I told her and stood behind the door. I looked at them and said, "Come and catch us, you dirty sewer rats! I am sure you will not give a fuck about us!" They looked at us, and I started to piss them off. Liy did what I told her to do. Loser ran into the door and broke it. We ran away from there. "Goddamnit, Loser, you had one job! One job, and you screwed it! Anyway, catch them, guys!" Blocky said behind us while we were running away. The recommended characters started chasing us. It was harder than I thought. "Look out, Liy!" "I know, I know!"

"To the stairs!" I said after her reply. It's hard to avoid things when- sweet mother of Maths! Liy was bitten on the arm. I backed away from her and held my flashlight, ready to flash at her. "I don't feel so good... Four, can you come and give me a silly hug?" She asked me, then laughed a little bit distortedly. I- I didn't know what to say. It was tough to tell this to someone who was with you all the time. "Liy, you have been bitten... an infected recommended character has bitten you on the arm. The effects are starting to kick in..., and I try to find a solution for both of us. I don't want to leave a contestant in danger or anything, but... you are infected." I tried to explain to her, but she understood what I was trying to explain. "The backup team should arrive soon. Alongside Coiny and Pin, Leafy and Firey agreed to come as a backup plan when one of us is bitten by an infected recommended character. The infected teammate will be detected by the infection meter, and then they will come. You have to go to the middle floor while I distract the infected. Do this, and you should be fine." She said before standing up and getting their attention. I nodded and took the Walkie Talkie she gave me. "Here is Leafy. We are on the middle floor! Anybody, can you respond to me?" The Walkie Talkie said. "Here is Four. I am walking there, Leafy." I replied as I was happy to hear her voice. "Alright. Tiptoe and don't make too much noise. A lot increases their hearing, so you have to be very silent. After they get Liy, you will have to be more careful than before." I followed the instructions and walked downstairs. I met them, and they explained how they dealt with the situation. It was good that the rescue came. They barricaded the stairs and ensured no infected people got out of this building. The perimeter had blockades with contestants fully equipped. At last, it seemed like it was over, for now. I better accept that X is no more, and he will never return. "I guess 8-Ball will be gone for a while, but I am sure he will return one day!" Basketball said with optimism. Everything was fine for now, but soon, things will go awry once again.

Leafy POV

I can't stop thinking if I am this evil entity. Evil Leafy is me, but cruel, and I am her, but good. Are we like Yin and Yang? Presumably yes. I looked at the horizon, and it was full of infected and no survivors. I sighed and said, "Maybe if I weren't so bad, Evil Leafy would have never existed! But what's the point when I already made everybody against me. What goes around comes around. And what's in the past stays in the past." "What's done is done, Leafy. You didn't mean to buy it off me, neither did I mean to steal Donut's diary." Firey told me and sat next to me. "Guess so, Firey, but it's my fault that-" "That what?! That you caused this apocalypse? Leafy, don't blame yourself for something you haven't done. What's in the past is in the past, and what's in the future is in the future." He replied. We would spend the cold night inside the building on the safe floors. It felt nice to be safe from them. We can't undo things, but we can change them for the better for our friends' safety.

But the problem was that I couldn't sleep. Everybody noticed how Purple Face was twitching, and he was laughing distortedly. "Come on, Leafy, sleep! You are a strong girl, and you know it! But what if I were this evil entity that caused this mess." I whispered to myself but couldn't get rid of the thought.

I did return the BFDI to him, so I fixed our friendship, but this apocalypse confused me a lot. Am I at fault again? Am I the wrong person for him? "Leafy, you stole something I owned, and now I feel like we should just be strangers." The flashback said. But we fixed our friendship, didn't we? Maybe it's just me being paranoid. I would try to fall asleep, but every minute felt like an hour, like a day. I must keep entertaining myself because I would never wake him up! I am a good friend! But then I saw my reflection being Evil Leafy. I walked forward to it and touched it. "Am I indeed you? This doesn't mean I am at fault, does it?!" I asked myself and tried to get rid of this thought. The reflection didn't change.

"No... no... no! This is impossible! Then this means I am guilty of all of this!" I said and prepared to punch the window. "I hate you for causing all of this! I hate myself for causing all of this to happen! I want to die and make the apocalypse stop!" I said and punched the window. The reflection didn't change. I am a monster who can't change, am I? I looked at my bleeding arm and sighed. "The pain is not enough to make me feel any better or worse than the fact that I am at fault." I bandaged it with parts of the curtains. At fault, never able to change the past.

"I can't undo what I have done to my friends, especially Firey. I hope he understands that I am just a terrible person." I said to myself and sat down, curled in a ball. Then someone knocked on the door. "Hey, Leafy, can I come in?" "Come in, whoever you are, outsider," I replied. It was Firey. I never knew that he'd be so concerned about me. "Leafy, what happened to your arm?" He asked me with a concerned look. "Oh, nothing special. You don't need to worry about me, a girl guilty of causing this."

I replied, laughing at my own mistakes. "Nothing special?! I think it's very concerning, Leafy! Tell me, what happened?" He asked me again. I don't want to make him upset about it. But what choice do I have? "Okay, okay! I couldn't sleep and tried to entertain myself. Then I saw my reflection being Evil Leafy. I wanted to shake it off, but it never changed. Then I punched the window because I was at fault." I replied to him. He sighed and said, "Leafy, stop thinking about the past and think about the future. Yes, we are stuck here, and yes, we may not be able to survive for a long while, but you aren't at fault. Whether or not, I will stay by your side. That's what friends are for, aren't they?" "Thanks, Firey. You are always by my side." I replied. We would spend the night together since he thought I might lose my sanity. It was nice to have someone who cared deeply for you. Thank you, Firey, thank you for always being by my side. I will never abandon you or betray you as I did in the past. I vow to stay by your side even in death! I will never leave you alone in the dark, although you are much more like the light, and I am stuck in the darkness.
