Four POV

~A very long time ago~

I was a kid who wanted to become a saint, like Ten. My name is Four, and my best friend is little X. We were orphans and had the same immortality as the other numbers. I always viewed Ten and the other holy numbers like Seven and Three as my childhood heroes. I always liked their enthusiasm and studied to join the Holy Numbers academy all day and night. I eventually joined the academy and learned how a holy one had control over their power until I saw our orphanage burning. "X, where are you?! It's me, Four! Calm down, little buddy. I am coming to save you from the fire!"

I shouted as I looked around. I eventually found him hiding under the bed and grabbed him. I carried him outside and sighed. "Thank you for coming to save me, Four. You indeed are my best friend!" "No need to thank me, buddy. Tell me, who burned down our orphanage?" I asked him. He looked away as he knew the answer might upset me. I nodded and smiled. "No need to answer me, X. I know that you wouldn't like to tell me since you know it might upset me." I said and packed what was left of our stuff. The academy luckily offered us bedrooms, and we stayed there. We restored the harmony, but not for long. Upperclassman Two came to us and said, "If it's not the unholy ones! What'cha doing here, Four? You know that no holy ones are unholy."

"Shut up, Two! Don't get yourself involved with the burnt orphanage." I replied to him, slamming the door shut. I could overhear his conversation. "Yes, your student, Four, and his spoiled little brother, X, are the unholy ones here, Ten. I thought the orphanage had burnt every member of those unholy souls." He talked on the phone with Ten. They did this to us! I couldn't believe it, but it was true. "Yes, Your Holiness, I will ensure I don't disappoint you." He said before closing the phone and walking away. They would prepare the ritual, and I will be forced to join it. "No, no, no! I need to warn X!"

I said to myself and quickly packed my stuff. I entered his room and saw no sign of him. "Four, help me! Four, they are kidnapping me!" He shouted from the corridor. I exited his room and followed his voice. I will make sure that you'll pay for this, traitors! You ruined our lives, and now you want to make mine worse! Then I noticed saint Seven and Three shooting beams at me. "Leave us alone, you goddamn traitors! We trusted you! We trusted you to show us our value, our meaning, but you instead burned down our orphanage, ruined our lives and worsened mine!" I said to them, transforming my hand into a beast's. Then I slashed them down and continued chasing Ten.

I kicked the door down and followed them through the labyrinth. I couldn't activate entirely beast mode because it'd get more unwanted attention. "You seem to be truly lost for an unholy number, Four. Let us cleanse you and your brother from your sins." They said in the shadows. I could sense their presence. "What's the point of doing so? We haven't done anything terrible throughout our lives. The unholy ones are you, not us!" I replied, and then I quickly heard X's voice. "Four, please help me! I don't want to die! I don't want to die here, Four! Please, save me!" He shouted. It was like when we were kids. I saved him from a wolf, and I will keep him from them!

"As a beast-type fighter, you enhance your abilities by fighting to the very end. You keep your word and never give up until your goal is accomplished. You will have to go berserk if someone dares to hurt the ones you hold dear to save them." Announcer told me once. I knew they outnumber me, and I knew they overpower me. I knew that I was overwhelmed by the guilt of my slow actions. But I also knew that they brought this upon themselves. I turned the Four Beast and fought them until I found Ten and fought him without control. I was defeated by him and outcasted from the rest with X. "Where are we going, Four?" "To find a better place to live, little buddy. There, we will finally be accepted for who we are." I replied to his question. A world full of new friends awaited us. A world where I couldn't use my beast-type powers against anyone who wanted to hurt me or anybody. A planet is full of new places to discover, new people, and new things to try. That was the world we loved to stay in forever.

~Present~

I had changed for the better for everybody's sake. I mustn't use those forbidden powers. "You are weak, Four! Admit it!" I heard ten's voice. "You are double the weaker, more pathetic, more powerless, more useless and helpless than I am, Four!" Two's voice said, laughing as always. "Your sins are the cause of your defeat! You should've left us to cleanse you two, or the threat shouldn't have endangered you!" "Fighters like you not only are looked down on, but that's what makes beast-type fighters like yourself more mighty, faster and better than anybody else. Your fellow brothers betrayed you, yes, but you have a long way to go as a hero, not a villain since you have my BFDI, buddy. Use your powers in emergencies that you cannot avoid. Uncontrollable or not, it's up to you to decide if you want to become one with your inner beast." Announcer told me. I guess I can't hide my abilities forever.

"You made Four angry, and now you will pay for this, Basketball! No one can defeat Four! NO ONE!" I shouted at her and transformed into a beast. Then I grabbed my blade and called, "Come and get me, you bouncy hell of a ball! You wanted to revenge on me, right?! Then you must defeat me first if you can!" She frowned and tried to hit me, but I used my superhuman speed and sliced her into pieces. "Sorry, but saving her is a lost cause. She got in the spider's web and became its puppet for a while. It was too late to try and make her back to normal." I apologised to Robot Flower and Grassy. Then I transformed back to normal. "This exhausted me. I should try and exercise a little. What about you... X? I guess he ran out of time and had to flee before she took control of him." I said and put my blade in its place. I knew that he'd be off since he was infected. "Thanks for saving us, Four. We are grateful for your appearance." They said. "It's no biggie, guys. Let's return to the train and continue our travel. We have a long way to go."
