Just a Tech oneshot where he's overtired and suffering from sleep deprivation. Definitely not because I myself have been dealing with terrible sleep schedules, no siree- (Contains: a brief apperance of an insect, symptoms of being very sleep deprived, drunkeness that is from lack of sleep and not alcohol lol, brief tension between the crew, and Omega helping out.)

Tech was crouched down in a corner of the ship, mending an interior panel that had some damage to it. Blue sparks flew up in front of Tech's face, which he wisely kept back from as the welding torch in his hand sealed over the edges of the previously dismantled panel. He flipped up his visor out of his face, one of two layers of protective eye gear, as he observed his handiwork.
"There we go. Good as new," he mused to himself, gently tapping his knuckles against the metal to test its sturdiness. It did not come off again.
He straightened, arching his body back and releasing a pop from his spine as he stretched. His gaze then drifted around the interior of the ship. "How long was I working?" he pondered out loud, grabbing his tools and securing them away before moving through the ship. He entered the cockpit, immediately squinting as his eyes met bright light. He shielded his face with his arm, blinking as his eyes attempted to re-adjust to the planet's sun.
"G'morning Tech," Hunter's voice came from behind him, and Tech turned to face him. The Bad Batch leader paused and rose a brow at him. "Already in your armour this early in the morning?"
Tech shook his head. "Well you see I-"
Omega's squeal cut him off and both men stiffened. They shared a glance, then knowingly rushed down the ship's corridor towards the source of the sound. Omega was hugging the loth-cat plush in her arms against her chest tightly, scrambling into the far corner of her little room, which happened to be by the opening.
"What's wrong?" Hunter immediately asked, and Tech took the moment of pause to rub at his eyes. There was a burning sensation from them that he hadn't noticed prior. It was uncomfortable, but luckily nothing more than that.
Omega whimpered. "I saw this... weird creature... in the corner of my room," she explained shakily, grasping onto Hunter when he was close enough and hugging him fearfully. Hunter frowned a bit, but Tech already was moving to help.
"I have this under control, Hunter," he assured his brother, squeezing past him and the girl clinging onto the more muscular man. Tech ventured into the room, crouching low to the floor and ready for an ambush. As he approached a pile of Omega's things directly across the room from her, that's when a small creature scuttled out across the floor from the pile. Omega screamed again, holding onto Hunter tighter and muttering 'ew' repeatedly as Tech stared dumbfounded at the invader.
"Omega, it is just an insect," he announced. "It appears to be a native species from the planet we currently are on. It must have come on board with us and gotten stuck on the ship."
"I don't like it!" Omega objected. "The way it moves is just... creepy!"
"Try to contain it somehow. Then we can release it later," Hunter offered to Tech, then turned his head a bit to look over his shoulder, seeing as Echo and Wrecker had come running at Omega's scream.
"Right..." Tech muttered as he overheard Hunter trying to calmly explain the situation to the others. Looking around the room, Tech spotted a small empty container sitting nearby. He grabbed it, then turned towards the bug again. He got down low to the ground, scooping it up into the container with ease. It scurried around inside, but Tech simply put the lid overtop of it, sealing it inside.
Then, he turned to Omega and Hunter. "See? That was a rather anticlimatic situation," Tech assured the girl.
Omega looked relieved, releasing her tight hold on Hunter. "Thank you, Tech..." she breathed.
