Chapter 9 - (In)convenients

A love poem?? Wow! Someone in the class is in love with someone and on top of that they're a great poet!
That certainly piqued his curiosity.

For a certain moment, he thought:

{Hmmm... Should I keep this? The person who dropped it might miss it and be very mad at me if they found out I took it...}

But, curiosity killed the cat. In the case, Jake himself.

Hailey was flipping through her notebook that she always carries with her everywhere she goes. She loves that notebook as it was a gift from her mother.

As she flipped through it, she noticed that there was a sheet missing.
The sheet that there was a corny poem she made on a weekend she was very tired and wanted to vent what she was feeling.

That's what you read, my dears; Jake had picked up the sheet that fell out of Hailey's notebook.

Oh man, imagine the mess this could cause if Hailey finds out the sheet was with him! Worse yet... If Jake recognized her handwriting and suspected she was "in love" with him... God, This would be the worst.

The teal haired girl unfortunately had to ask the jomies if they had seen her fallen sheet on the floor...

- Um... Excuse me, guys?
- Oh, sup, Hailey! - Liam greeted. - What's up?
- I'm good, thanks! I just wanted to know if you guys saw a sheet fallen on the floor, when we left the classroom, now... Have you?

The three boys looked at eachother, thoughtful.
- No, I don't think I did, Hailey... Have you, guys?
Drew and Liam shook his heads in denial.

- Well, at least I saw someone stay in the classroom a bit later than us, if that helps. - The magenta-haires boy added.

- Hm... Yeah, I think it does. Thanks, guys-

Before Hailey could finish, Stacy nearly dropped her books she was carrying into the principal's office.
Liam got scared and offered to help.

- Wow, watch out, Stacy! Do you need any help?
- Oh, hi Liam! No no, don't worry, I'll be fine. It's just that I'm so sick of being a book-carrying helper that my arms rebelled and became weak.
He laughed at the joke.
- Haha! It might be. But, don't worry! I'll help you, it's not a bother at all.
- B-but-
- Here, let me carry some. - he said, already taking 3 of the 5 books Stacy was carrying.
Henry didn't miss the opportunity to make fun of his friend:
- Oooh, why are you offering so bad to help Stacy? Do I smell a crush?~
- What?! N-no! Don't be ridiculous, Henry. It's not like I have a crush on her, I'm just being a gentlemen.
- Said the one who last year joked that they didn't even know what the word "romantic" was.
Everyone started laughing, but Liam could only huff and roll his eyes. While Stacy was understanding absolutely nothing.
- Whatever; let's go, Stacy. It's getting heavy for me too.
When the two walked away, Henry reminded the other two remaining that they should get their things from the lockers, since the next class was about to start. But Drew ended up stopping Hailey a little early.

- Hailey, can I have a word with you?
- ...Sure.
- Well, I just wanted to apologize of what happened last week, when I teased you. I promised I wouldn't bugg again, and I did. I was jealous, because I miss Jake. He was my best friend, and he walked away from me because I was an idiot. But I ended up being an idiot again, pissing you off and making that headache you had get worse. I'm sorry.

Wow, Drew apologizing? That was something Hailey wouldn't get used to so early.

- I understand you, Drew. D-don't worry, it's okay. I know you've also gone through a lot and that it's not easy for you to be away from Jake for so long. So, chill out, I forgi...

Yeah, Hailey got interrupted again. But this time, for worse things:
Memories came back to her about all the times Drew had been a jerk to her, bullying her and her stepbrother, and most importantly, the one time she'd overheard Drew convince Jake to do it too.

It all came to a head and just out of nowhere, she got dizzy and her headache came back. Again.

- Are you okay, Hailey? Don't tell me you're having another headache?

Everything started to go black, and Hailey's vision was closing slowly, until she couldn't stand anymore.

- Drew, I think I'm gonna pass out.

- What...? - He asked, scared, seconds before the girl collapsed in his arms. - Hailey!! Oh my God, what should I do?! Someone help me!

Everyone in the hallway saw what happened, including Jake, who dashed off towards them, while Milly came with a cup of water a little later.

Wow... This ending was just so... Wow.

This chapter was even longer than the 1100-odd words I apologized for already. Guess I've got more inspired in this one, haha...

I also put some Staliam, since it's one of my OTP's 🤭

Look forward to the next chapter guys, cuz I'll start to put some drama in it~ (or at least try, since I don't have a script for this fanfic akakaksjjd)

Well, now I gotta rush here, because it's, like, 2:23am and I haven't dried my hair, brushed my teeth, tidied the room nor slept yet (I took advantage of my mom going to her bedroom to make my brother sleep and locked the door so he wouldn't run away to do this chapter, see how much I care about you?~)

I'm going there to speed things up, and hope that a party in the neighboring building ends before I go to bed, because they're singing very loudly at 2 am and I don't know how the police haven't come here yet 😭😭 THEY'RE SINGING "I DON'T WANNA MISS A THING" BY AEROSMITH SO LOUD AND IT'S SO LATE ISTG SOMEONE MAKE THEM SHUT UP)
