What the eyes can't see || A TMF fanfic ? Jailey (REWRITEN)

It was the graduation of the senior year of the 2021 students.
Jake, Hailey, Luke and Zander were wearing his long black coats and hats, as the tradition goes.
Milly and Sean were watching them from the crowd. Sean went to watch them as a visitor, and Milly was going to become a senior at the day, so she was waiting for her class' turn to get onstage.

For everyone's surprise, Jake was the one who were called to make the speech. He had one week to make it, so it had to be good.
And it was, actually. You're gonna see soon.

- I'm so nervous... - Hailey confessed - I don't know what I'm gonna do after graduation!! Do I take a normal course? Or do I skip college and start a singing career?

- Relax, Hailey, it's all gonna be fine. We still have 1 month of vacation to think about this. - Zander comforted.

- Yeah, but, I never thought of what college I'm going to take! And the course! I don't even know if I'll be able to pass the entrance exam!

Jake put his hand on Hailey's shoulder.
- Hey... Don't feel so stressed. You're a good student, I'm sure you'll do well. And whatever happens, me, Zander, Luke, Milly and Sean will always be with you. - He finished with a cheek kiss.

- Thank you, Jake.

It was now the turn of the senior year to make the final presentation.

The principal grabbed the microphone, nearly crying, and said what she needed to say:

- I remember you guys when you were just in 6th grade... Time goes by so fast... In a little while, you'll be in college and then starting families...! - Tears formed in her eyes. - Sorry, I can get really emotional sometimes.

The students laughed.

- Now is the time for you to get your diplomas! You can also say what is your dream job or career if you want.

Everyone laughed and said "hi" in unison.

- So, I know this year wasn't the best for all of you. We've all gone through a lot of difficult moments, and that is exactly the thing we don't understand. Bad things happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere. But some people focus so much on blaming themselves for what is not going well that they forget that good things are also happening and are going to happen. We care so much about the opinions of others that we end up living without knowing who we really are. We live thinking that we are whatever we are told. We live in such fear of being ourselves that we give up great opportunities just to please others. We make up these problems in our minds and make them the end of the world because we are afraid. We are afraid of growing up and having to deal with it differently, of carrying it with us forever. But living a life of fear, we live a life without meaning. I, for example, from I was 7 years old until I was 16, hid my true talent. And I hid it even more 3 years ago, only for fear of not being accepted by my friends, and I became a bad person. Hailey spent 4 years without singing due to stage fright, being seen as a freak and being judged by others. Zander has been afraid to trust people since he was a kid, for fear of people being like... A certain relative who abandoned his family, which I don't think he would be comfortable admitting who it is. These are examples of people we live with, who secretly live a life of fear. And we, as schoolmates and a society, shouldn't sit still. 'Cause we all have our pains too. We should stop judging people by their cover for fear of feeling invalidated yourself. We have to stop being afraid of being judged for not knowing who you really are.We have to stop letting what happened years ago take the wheel of our lives. We just have to evolve, do good and move on. Don't waste time suffering with what can paralyze you, because, someday, we might make the difference to everyone around us, and show them how to be like us. We have to be fearless! And I'm sure there are brave people out there in that crowd. All of you are, but some have not yet found their courage. So, find it! Don't let the fear win the battle of your life! Leave here with a smile on your face for getting another achievement, leave home confident and leave your childhood and adolescence fears behind. You are so much more than that.And congratulations to everyone who managed to finish school. If you don't feel proud of the things you do, know that you should be proud of everything. You have value, and you can impact someone's life. And you know what? Even if you just finished high school and you're not proud of anything else... Know that the entire school staff, and all your family and friends... Are proud of you.And we're not proud that you're not afraid to be yourself. Leave your fear behind and show who you really are. Make a new restart in your life and be fearless!

This touching and moving speech caused everyone to rise from their seats and give a standing ovation.

- Thank you, everyone!

He stood in front of the microphone, looked at Hailey and then said:

- Now, this next song, goes at someone very special to me.

What? What song?
Oh yeah! The school team let Jake sing a song after his speech. There was a speaker hidden there on the stage that they put on the court.

Before he started, they stared at eachother's eyes deeply and finally it hit for Jake.
That dream he had, when he said the exact same thing for Daisy on a stage, had a complete different meaning.
It was a sign that there was something more. More friends around, which was the music club. And Hailey was one of them, so there was always something missing in his life.
