Chapter 11 - The threat

"Happy early birthday, Daisy!!"

The girl jumpscared and laughed at the same time. Jake giggled, liking the small surprise they did for her.

- Aww guys, thank you so much! - The snow-haired girl gasped, surprised. - This is so cute of all of you!

- We just wanted to thank you for helping us so much with the club. Like helping Jake apologize to us, coming up with the song idea, encouraging us, etc... You are very special to us. - Hailey thanked, smiling. A few seconds later, she realized her smile faded. But, why? Wasn't it true?

Oh, yeah. That is true. Daisy seemed clearly better than Hailey. That's why he liked her better.

Daisy looked like she was gonna cry. Her eyes were sparkling and her cheeks were turning red.
Sometimes, she can be very emotional.

Hailey, not understanding why she was suddenly sad, forced a smile and said:
- In fact, we'll rehearse our talent show song right now. C'mon, sit down! And the rest of you, *clapping hand*, in your positions!

They played their song very well. Daisy loved it and, for their last rehearsal, everyone did a great job.

- Wow, that was incredible!!! You guys are OBVIOUSLY going to win the talent show!!

- Thank you, Daisy! Yeah, we're doing our best. I hope we can get a good position.

Hailey felt a twinge of pain in her head, and she was already panicking. So, she had to come up with a really bad excuse to get out of there:

- Guys, I'm going to the restroom, wait up.

- Ok! - Milly replied.

When the club president closed the door, she tried to breathe a little and try not to think about the headache. That might not mean anything.
In this case, it was no big deal. It passed in a minute, standing still in the silence of the hallways.

- I think I'm already feeling better.

But, as she was about to open the door to the music room, she saw a shadow behind her.
It was Zoey.

Slowly, she backed away from the door, a little afraid, and tried to figure out what she wanted.

- What do you want this time?

- Oh, no big deal,- she said, in a mean tone - I just want to know how Jake is doing back at the club. Everything ok? You're not fighting with him, and no one is feeling guilty, right?

- Go straight to the point. I have to go back inside.

- Well, since you're in such a hurry, here it goes... - the blonde girl got closer and stared at her with a threatening face - ...I want you out of the talent show.

Hailey didn't understand the words right away, and as she formed the question in her head, Zoey quickly answered it.

- I know that you're getting over your stage fright and finally reaching your dreams and blah, blah, blah... But, when you and your music circus got the 2nd place in the competition, my popularity plummeted. And I will NOT let a freak like you replace me!!

The club president was shocked by Zoey's reaction. Did she just want to remain the popular one? What an egocentric girl she is!

- Zoey, are you insane? I don't give a shit about popularity. I just want to overcome my stage fright and follow my dreams! If you're so desperate for popularity, open an Instagram account. People love girls who look pretty but are actually self-centered b1tches. Now, if you excuse me, I need to get back to the music room.

The self-centered Zoey's blood rose until smoke came out from her ears. She freaked out and got harder.

- Alright, go to your little music room! Meanwhile, I'm just gonna spread the word to everyone that you're a psycho freak who has headaches because her crush bullied her and likes someone else!

Worse yet is the ending......... I'll burst out in crying while writing it.

Well, things got juicy now, huh? Rosy's not the only one who can turn The Music Freaks into a complete chaos 😈😈

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it! I even had to stop to think about what I would make Zoey threaten Hailey, so it was a little more complicated to make this chapter. But I'll do my best to make even better chapters, and deliver H̶e̶a̶r̶t̶breaking Bonds with style ✨
