Jimin moved toward the back of the house, staying in the shadows of the yard, to the window of the Jihyo's room. The room was dark save for the dim shine of the moon-night light Jimin had given her. A slow press and the window opened. It's not locked. The only good news she'd had.
A quick climb and Jimin found Jihyo in her bed, huddled beneath a pile of blankets. The girl's eyes widened, then she broke into tears.
Jimin raised his fingers to his lips.
Only a crash from the kitchen and heavy foot-steps said the mate had heard.
Jimin rushed over and hid behind the door. It slammed opened, nearly hitting him.
"Shut Up!" the booming voice of the alpha and the command in his tone had no effect on Jimin. Why? Why don't I feel anything? "Go to sleep, Jihyo. We'll leave in the morning and take you home."
Jihyo stared back, blankets clutched around her. Would she tell her father? Would she tell him about Jimin?
Jimin wouldn't have blame her.
Still, Jihyo showed the same spark her mother had. They might have been beaten down, but neither was weak. She shook her head. "Sorry Appa."
He released a quick snarl, as though he tried to content his temper, before shaking his head and softening his voice a little bit. "It's fine. Just go to sleep, okay? This is almost over."
The door shut, and Jimin pulled in a breath. He moved back to Jihyo's side when he was sure the mate had gone. He leaned in close to whisper into the girl's ear. "Come on. We're going to go out the window and through the backyard, okay?"
"What about eomma?"
"I'll come right back for her."
The girl nodded and didn't make a sound as Jimin helped her out of the window. She didn't even complain when Jimin hoisted her over the fence or when he lower her down by a tight grip around her wrist.
"There's a black sedan just down the street. Here are the keys. Get in the back seat and lie down. Don't come out no matter what, okay?"
"You're leaving me? what am I supposed to do?"
The question haunted Jimin. What if things went badly? What if he and Jennie were killed? Who would help Jihyo?
Jimin might have trust issues with the men, but he didn't have any options. "I'm going to send my friends a message. They're going to come get you in just a few minutes. Just get into the back seat of the car and stay down, okay?"
Jihyo nodded, keys clutched in her hands before she ran off.
Jimin pulled the phone from his pocket, then sent a message to Jungkook. Why he sent it to him, he wasn't sure. He put the address and a short note.
There's a little a girl in the back seat of Hoseok's car, please come and get her.
He held the phone tight, finger's sliding along the side of the phone with all the things he wanted send but he settled on, I'm sorry.
