bygone

Ara's POV

It's been a few weeks since I got hospitalized, and now, I'm free to go whenever I want.

"Ara, where do you want to go?" Jacob asked me as he assisted me in wearing my jacket.

"I wanna eat. Can we go to our favorite restaurant?" I asked.

I dislike the food here in the hospital. It has no taste.

"Sure." 

He neatly folded my hospital clothes and placed them on the bed. We grabbed a taxi and went straight to the restaurant, got a seat for two, and ordered the usual.

"While waiting for our food, I want to tell you something. Tomorrow, we are visiting my mom and dad in Canada, and you are coming with me. Also, we're going to live and study there." he explained. 

I don't know what to feel after I process his words in my head. I'm excited because I'm going to see Auntie and Uncle again, but a part of me feels sad. It's weird, but I just shrugged it off. 

I was about to ask him why we were moving, but he interrupted me.

"Please don't ask the reason. It's not that important. And my mom and dad miss you so much. Don't worry, Auntie and Uncle already agreed on that."

"Oh, the food is here. Thank you." 

We started eating and talked about random stuff, enjoying our moments together.

After eating, we went shopping and bought souvenirs for Auntie and Uncle. 

While looking for clothes, I noticed four students, two boys, and two girls, staring at me. They look familiar, but why can't I remember them? A part of me says that I should greet them, but why? I don't know them. 

They were about to come near me when my cousin caught my attention.

"Ara let's go. We need to pack our stuff for tomorrow. I bought you some new clothes that will surely look good on you." he said as he pulled me out of the store. 

I take one last look at them before I go. 

When we got home, I packed my clothes and went downstairs for dinner.

"Are you done packing your stuff?" Dad cuts his steak and eats it. 

I just nod because my mouth is full.

" Be a good girl, and don't give them a hard time." She reminds me. 

I nod.

After eating, my mom wants us to sleep early because of our flight tomorrow. But since my room is very messy, I still need to clean it.

 While sweeping the floor, I found my phone. The screen was cracked and looked broken. I opened it and saw that it was still working. There were so many messages, and about to read one when my door opened, revealing my cousin.

"Hey, Ara. What are you doing?" he went inside my room and closed the door. 

"I think I found my old phone," I handed the phone to him. 

Once he had it, he opened it and explored it for a minute. I noticed his facial expression change.

"Is there a problem?" I asked him which brought him back to his senses.

"Nothing, I think this isn't yours. We'll just buy another phone once we get there." He placed the phone in his pocket and focused on me once again.

"Anyway, I went here because I want to sleep with you. Can I?" he asked.

 Now I noticed he's holding a pillow. I smiled and immediately went to bed. 

Once he lay down on my bed, I turned off my lamp and hugged him. 

His hugs are so comfy, which made me sleepy.

"Goodnight Jacob," I said as I fell asleep.

"Goodnight Ara. I'm sorry" 

I didn't hear the last part because I'm already in my dreamland.
