A/N: in honor of the last week of pride month I'll be updating every day this week but this kind of update won't happen again. *
Ricky's POV:
I don't know how I am going to function today in school.
E.J Caswell asked me to be his prom date, well sort of his friend date to prom. He never said that I was his date or his boyfriend.
I don't know what we are.
Yesterday, I skated home and did all of my homework as fast as I could.
I even double checked my math homework.
E.J really had a positive effect on me yesterday after he gave his apology speech and asked me to prom.
I don't mind the small casual 'hey, do you want to go to prom' talk. It is so much better than being publicly humiliated in front of the entire school when someone does a promposal or whatever it's called.
I even told Franklin about what happened yesterday since my dad was still at work.
Unfortunately, now I'm here standing in front of the East High Statue, debating on if I should just walk into school and pretend to be the gay kid no one notices or act different because I have a prom kind of date now.
"Good morning Ricky. Since you missed out on the last two meetings. I am putting you in charge of handing out flyers for today's event," I see Carlos holding a box of papers while Seb is passing them out as he walks past me standing in front of the statue.
"What event?"
"Oh it's LGBTQ health awareness week so we are doing a different activity everyday. Yesterday we handed out stress balls and pronoun pins. Today we are holding an inclusive club meeting for allies and people who want to ask questions about LGBTQ mental and physical health. Nini's moms are doing a little talk and we are having donuts too. It's like an extra meeting open to the East High community. Here take a few flyers," (A/N: this is a real National week at the end of March)
"Oh uh thanks but I don't really advertise for things," I follow them as we walk towards the main doors.
"Well now you do," I watch Carlos and Seb wave at me as they pass out flyers to people.
"I guess I do now," I say to myself as I continue to walk down the hall with my skateboard under my arm since there's a stupid no skating rule here.
"You do what?" I see E.J walk over to me as I head to my locker.
"I have to help Seb and Carlos pass out these flyers. I mean I could throw them in the recycling but it looks like someone in the Pride club took time to make them look nice and easy to read," I look over at E.J's muscles instead of the flyers that Carlos handed me.
"Oh well, that's not hard. I can help you do that later on today after first few classes. I actually have something for you. I'm going to pass them out later at lunch. I made them myself with some help and I know who not to give them to," I totally forget about opening my locker and watch E.J pull out a bag of stickers out of his backpack and hand me one.
"What's this?"
