"I still can't get over the fact I had to spend money on a slug." Steve said looking right at Dustin. We are currently waiting for Lucas to show up but since we have time to spare Steve has been complaining nonstop about money.
"Well, Steve! How was I supposed to know my pet would eat my cat then try to eat me? Mhm?" Dustin said moving his head side to side.
"It's just the fact I had to buy this stuff, Dustin! When I could have bought other important items." Steve said throwing his hands up in frustration.
"What? Like Farrah Fawcett spray?" Dustin chuckled.
"DUSTIN!" Steve's eyes got huge, " Not another word!"
"What does buying mean? Like when you said you bought this meat?" I said looking at them in confusion. Both boys froze, I think they forgot I was there with them.
"What?" they both said
"You know. Whatever Steve is talking about. Buying? What is buying?" pointing toward Steve and then to the bucket of meat.
"Um. Buying is what you do when you need something. Like how Steve needs his Farrah Fawcett spray, he'll go to the store then pay for the item with money." Dustin said. The way Dustin spoke was like I was a child and I did something odd.
"Okay, then what is money?" I said still not grasping onto the idea of buying things. Hearing my question Steve pulls out his wallet and shows me a green piece of paper.
"This is money, it's a one-dollar bill. You get this by working at a job or your parents give it to you. But you use this to buy items from a store." Steve handed me the dollar. I hold on to it, inspecting it never seeing something like this before. Handing it back to Steve with now an idea of what 'Buying' and 'Money' is.
"Well I never had money but I still went to the store." I said not really caring seeing how my way was not as complicated.
"You've been to the store?" Dustin asked. Looking at both boys Dustin's face was perplexed while Steve was putting away the dollar.
"Yes. I go whenever I needed something for my home, or if I was hungry, or even to get new shoes/clothes. I don't see the reason why you need money if you can get it without the money." I shrugged nonchalantly.
"Wait, wait a second. This means..." Steve got cut off by Dustin.
"YOU! IT'S YOU!" Dustin screamed causing me to jump. " You're the one stealing from Bradley's store and people's homes! This is freaking amazing! Do you know that you are a legend? Like people have been looking for the person stealing since last year! This is insane. And the best part you didn't know you were stealing! Like is a dream come true situation! Tell me how you did it! Tell me how you haven't been caught yet!"
Looking at Dustin who hasn't stopped smiling, jumping, and acting like a kid in a candy store. While Steve is in shock but also looking at me in amazement?
