Love isn't always easy. It takes work and to love someone unconditionally means to accept them, faults and all, but want to help them become a better version of themselves.

One Year Later
Stiles moved in with Derek at the end of that first month and the apartment soon overflowed with their combined scent. They'd have Friday night dinners every week and invited their friends and family to come. Cora and Isaac made their mating official, after discovering that Isaac had gotten a new soul mark after what happened with Scott. Laura ended up marrying her childhood sweetheart and soulmate Avery who moved to Georgia. Talia and Nathaniel Hale came out at least twice a month on those Fridays to spend time with the small branch of their pack. Noah, the Sheriff, showed up at least once a month on those Fridays. There was a sense of family, community, pack and home.

Three Years Later
Derek had graduated from college with a degree in English Literature and took on a teaching position at a smaller college in Beacon Hills. He and Stiles saved up to buy their own house there and when Stiles graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice, he moved back to Beacon Hills to be with his mate. In fact, Stiles was still able to live his dream of joining the FBI and was tasked with overseeing the first ever supernatural division of the FBI that would be based in Beacon Heights barely an hour's drive from his home in Beacon Hills. Laura stayed out in Georgia founding a pack there once she became an alpha. Her parents helped her through establishing herself and she ended up building her pack house on Sapello Island which made a certain spark and a certain wolf very happy. Isaac and Cora originally planned on moving back to Beacon Hills but decided to stay in Georgia with Laura's pack for a while.
Noah was pleased to have his son back and when summer came he started going with Stiles and Derek to see Aunt Myria. Stiles continued to train knowing that there was always something new for him to learn. Aine continued to meet with him but not always to train. They would talk for hours and he would learn more about his Soul Spark. He had already brought honor to her by his humility and his willingness to listen. Derek was invited to meet her and she was very pleased to meet the mate of the Soul Spark incarnate at last. She gave a blessing to them both.

Five Years Later
"Vixie? Baby please be careful," Stiles called out to their four-year-old daughter.
"Sorry Daddy," the little kit said softly.
Stiles knelt down on the grass in their backyard and kissed her forehead. "Don't be sorry. Just remember that we have to be careful. You know daddy loves how special you are but you are also just a pup and I want to keep you safe. Okay?" he asked her.
Vixie nodded, fiddling with a button on her daddy's shirt. "Daddy, will you always keep me safe?"
Stiles nodded with a smile. "Always baby." He pulled his daughter in a tight hug and then gestured to the house. "We should go get your backpack. It's preschool today and then you'll go see Grandpa Noah." Vixie squealed excitedly and darted into the house, her fox ears shifting and Stiles just shook his head with a grin.
Derek looked up when Stiles came inside and smiled as he fed their two-year-old twins, Luna and Iskra (Polish for Spark). "Someone is excited for preschool I see."
Stiles nodded and walked over to his husband, placing a kiss to his lips. "Definitely. That, and she is excited to see Dad."
"That definitely explains it," Derek said with a bright chuckle. "These two are almost done eating and my parents should be over to get them soon." Stiles gave a nod and Derek tilted his head. "Still not going to tell me what your surprise is?"
