Day 1 of no contact was rough for Draculaura. She laid in bed all day, eyes glued to her phone for any signs of calls or messages from you. When it became evident that she wouldn't receive one, it was heartbreaking for her. She whined and howled in agony. You really weren't going to respond to her, and the reality of the situation finally sunk in. She had messaged you multiple times, but it didn't seem like you were going to actually read them. She doubted you did, and instead settled on the thought that you were ignoring those, too.

You did read them, however, and each one broke your heart more than the last. She had become desperate, obviously, with the way her messages started and ended. The entire way through, she was obviously very distraught without you. They started simply enough:

Hey.
How are you?
Have you thought about it yet?
Did you think about it yet?
What about now?
Are we still friends?
Can we still hang out after school?
Are we still beasties?
What do you think about lunch? Just us two?
Please?

Then, they became more desperate. More needy. More panicked.

Please
I love you
You're my world
You mean everything to me
Please
I didn't want to hurt him
I just wanted you
Please
I love you
I love you so much
We'll be happy
Just come back!
Please!!
I need you, (Y/N)!
You don't know how badly I need you
Come back
I won't be mad if you just come back
We can act like this never happened
Please
I'm giving you a chance

Then they got scary, with threats and voice messages that you didn't bother to listen to.

I said come back.
We're meant to be together.
You're a bitch
You're a fucking whore
I'll kill you
And Twyla
And I'll kill your fucking cat too
Come back
Answer me
You won't get away from me
I'll find you
I'll always fucking find you
You can't leave me
I won't let you
You're a crazy bitch
No one wants you
But I do
Just come back
I love you
Fucking prick

It all ended early enough, when she realized you weren't going to budge and that messaging was the worst way to get you back. You stayed strong in your belief of ignoring her, not messing it up even once. You were too shocked at her responses to you.

Threatening you and Twyla? Even your pet?  That was too far. That was something she needed to be punished for. And what better punishment than to keep ignoring her? It obviously got to her.

You vowed that for every threat, you'd ignore her even longer. How long? You weren't sure. Until she stopped, at least. But maybe you'd keep it going a bit longer, just to prove a point. You didn't plan on ignoring her forever, but you did plan on teaching her good things and bad things to say to someone. Threatening was definitely a no-no, and you had to make sure she understood that.

You held your pet in your arms as you bawled, reading and rereading the messages again and again. Surely she didn't mean the horrible things she said and threatened. Surely she didn't mean any of it at all. But then again, she did kill Clawd.

And what were you going to do with that information? You couldn't send her to jail. You couldn't call the police on her. She has backup. She has the entire school on her side. There was no way anyone would believe you even if you recorded it!

For the first time in a while, you felt stuck. Were you supposed to just go back to normal with her? Were you supposed to avenge Clawd? Were you supposed to kill her? Kill yourself? Maybe run away?

You didn't know. You had gotten so dependent on Draculaura that you hadn't gotten comfortable making your own decisions. You didn't know what to do, and what was a horrible situation ended up feeling like a punishment from the universe.

What were you going to do?

So, with every jumbled up question in your mind, you called the one person who would know what to do better than you.

Twyla answered on the second ring, and you wasted no time in telling her what had happened. She said nothing as you explained, her eyes wide and her mouth open just as much from surprise. She answered with a simple statement.

"I knew it!"

"Huh?"

"I knew it!" She said again, this time more angrily than the last. "I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!"

You stopped. "How did you know?"

"I-I was in the shadows...."

"Where?" You asked.

"A lot of places...and...I pieced it all together! I knew it."

"Well what do I do?"

"I'm not sure." She answered honestly. "Maybe...go to police?"

"But, they won't believe me with no proof!"

"Maybe...tell your parents?"

"Oh, yeah." You scoffed. "Cause they're so helpful."

"I don't know, then." She mumbled. "Just keep ignoring her."

"I have to say something to her eventually."

"Yeah, well, don't until you know for a fact what you're going to say. Don't say anything to her unless you know that you're going to fix things or drop things all together."

"Okay, okay." You exhaled calmly. "Should I fix things? Or should I drop them?"

"It's up to you, not me." She defended.

You sighed. "Okay, I'll figure it out."

"Do you want company tonight?" She asked.

You looked out the window. It would be your first night alone after a week. You bit your lip and inhaled.

"Yeah." You mumbled. "Yeah, I want some company please."

Draculaura bit the inside of her cheek. She had set up a voice recorder under your bed, and had been listening to the entire conversation.

She couldn't believe you! Choosing Twyla over her like that!

Draculaura glared at her phone which held yours and her messages.

She wasn't mad anymore.

She was livid.
