"FREEZE!" Shouted several humans as they came out of the trees with some weapons that I think they called "guns".
I don't know what they wanted with me. And that's when what Eliza said every time I asked to asked to go to human cities. "It's because if people see you, they will either kill you or capture you, stuff you in a cage, and study you for the rest of your life ." I shuddered, was that what they wanted to do with me now? Did they want to kill me. Would they capture me and put me in a cage and leave me there for the rest of my life? Calm down, I thought. I just need to make a quick decision and everything will be fine. I thought about my options, I could try to escape, or fight back. But after some quick thinking, I thought that pretending to surrender and then trying to escape would work best. So, I raised my hands as a sign of surrender.
"Don't move." One of them murmured as they pointed theirs guns at me. Some of the humans walked into the woods and didn't come back. I wonder why they left. After waiting for some minutes, I heard a huge rumbling and I caught a glimpse of a really big car coming this way. I realized that if I wanted to escape, it would be now.
I used my wings to knock the humans next to me down. Then I started running. I heard some of the humans yelling to each other and footsteps behind me. But I didn't care, I was focused on escaping. Well, maybe too focused. Because I wasn't looking at where I was stepping. I tripped on a stone on the ground and fell to the ground with a thump. Then I felt pain on my back and I blacked out.
