[Rewrite In Progress] Chapter 18 - Evaluation

Start from the beginning

Finally, my name was called out and I got up to walk over to the arena. Airies flew of my shoulder and landed on Arthur's.

"Good luck... Not that you'll need it," he said with smirk.

"Good luck," Jasmine also said and gave me a nod. As I was walking down the stairs, I see Lucas staring at me with anticipation. Probably to see what I was capable of. Well, lucky for him, I intend to put on a show. A show of dominance!

I got down to the arena and the male augmenter stood opposite me and was staring at me scrutinisingly. I smiled back at him, making it look like I was inexperienced and gullible. The complete opposite of what I was!

"It seems you're here to be tested under special conditions, seeing as there isn't any information here written about you. Okay! Let's see what you're made of, Princess." Wait, did he just call me a Princess? Oh, you messed up. I don't even let my husband call me a Princess, so what make you think you can?

"Try to survive," I whispered. My tone was sharp and had a hint of irritation in it, completely contrasting my happy-go-to persona from a couple of seconds prior. My examiner, George, looked shocked for a second and broke out into a cold sweat. We both drew out our weapons and got into fighting positions.

"B-begin," he announced, stuttering in the process. I augmented my body and rapier in mana and dashed forward to him. He was barely able to block my attack in time and went a few steps back from the resultant force. I didn't even let him get a breather as I dashed forwards yet again. I sent multiple thrusts, that were faster than the eye could see, at him. He tried to block them but only managed to stop half of them.

When he started to get overwhelmed, he fired a huge blast of fire at me at point blank range. I used wind mana to propel myself to the side and manipulate the air currents to redirect the blast to the other side. Did he have no tact? This was only meant to be an exam, if it were anyone else, they would have been seriously injured.

Having no intention to drag this fight our any longer than in needed to be, and risk showing more of my cards; I decide to end it. Putting more mana into my legs, I kicked the ground hard and shot forward in an incredible speed. I could hear gasps of shock and amazement and my speed. To them, I was probably nothing more than a blur. In my past life, I was known for my speed, both for my rapier and my physical agility.

Using wind mana again, I sent a huge gust at his feet; trying to reduce his balance. He seemed to have noticed what I was up to and tried to move away, but it was too late. The wind had already hit him and made his legs shake from the lack of equilibrium. I thrusted my sword into him so hard that I disarmed him and he fell on his backside, landing in-front of me.

"By the way, I'm not a Princess. I'm a Queen. You'd do well to remember that." I said while looking down at him. He looked back at me with a fearful face and I turned and made my way back to Arthur and Jasmine.

"Woah!"

"Another little monster!"

"Woah, did you see that. She shot forward like a black meteor!"

"What is with today's crowd?"

"Damn, I want to just go home!"

"Good job," Jasmine said with a rare smile and an approving nod.

"You looked a little annoyed down there. What happened?" Arthur asked.

"Oh, it was nothing. I got a little miffed because he called me a 'Princess'" He gave me an understanding smile and looked at the man with pity.

"Poor guy. He didn't know what he got himself into." Jasmine looked confused at our conversation, but decided not to ask anything.

"Ahm...T-Twilight, B-Class," George finally said, avoiding looking at me. There were murmurs of surprise at the announcement.

"Just couldn't control yourself, could you?" Arthur teased and I just rolled my eyes.

"B-Class! Right of the bat!"

"But she didn't do anything except enhance her body with mana and use one little spell!"

"That's unheard of!"

"Wow! She's talented, and kind of cute." Immediately Arthur sent a glare to the person who said that, and from the petrified look on his face, it's safe to assume he pissed himself. I held his hand to calm him down a bit. He just sighed and intertwined our fingers, holding my hand tighter.

Lucas was looking at me with a mixture of smugness and irrigation, probably from the fact that someone that didn't look like nobility got the same rank as him. And a girl for that matter as well. It probably wounded his inflated pride that he built up over the course of his life.

"Next... Note."

"Good luck. Make sure not to kill him." I teased and gave him a toothy grin.

"I'll try," he responded. Jasmine gave him her classic nod and he made his way towards the arena. As soon as Arthur went, I saw Lucas get up from his seat and approach me.

'Oh, shit! This is going to be annoying.'
