You were his sweet nerdy best friend who always let him rant about anything and let him spend the night at your place until you graduated 2 years ago. He met Dustin a few times, but it was always dark and you always pulled Eddie into your room before your mom saw. Then, you went to college. You hadn't talked for 2 years. Eddie recruited Dustin after finding out he played D & D. And... well he found out he was your brother.

Flashback to the beginning of this school year - Eddie's POV

Another fu**ing day in the he**hole we call Hawkins High.

I call over Gareth and ask "Find any new recruits to Hellfire?" He shrugs and answers "I heard those three fish at that locker play." I look over to the locker he's pointing at and I tilt my head a little. It could just be me, but that looks like Y/N's brother. I would sneak into the house with Y/N to her room, but sometimes her brother would barge in. He seemed nice enough.

By the end of the day, I notice the three freshmen around their bikes.

I walk up with Gareth and Jeff behind me.
I exclaim "I heard a rumor you boys play D & D."
One of them says "I don't know. What's it to you?"
I answer "I'm the Dungeon Master around here and we have openings in our club. It's called Hellfire. We have a game tomorrow after school. You can get these wicked cool shirts if you join."
They all look at each other and slowly nod. 
I exclaim "My name is Eddie Munson, high school super senior by day and dungeon master or guitar player by night. To my left is Gareth and to my right is Jeff. We are Hellfire."
The boy who I think is Y/N's brother says "Wait... the Eddie Munson who was best friends with my sister, Y/N?"
I answer "So it is you, Dustin. Long time no see. How is sweet dear Y/N?"
Dustin answers "She's going to graduate in 2 years from college."
I reply "Ah great. She's still dedicated to education like crazy. But is she okay? She seemed down junior and senior year."
Dustin answers "She seems happy to me."
I ask "What about... does she have a boyfriend or best friend?"
Dustin smirks and says "I tell you that, I want something in return."
Clever boy. He takes after his sister.
I ask "What?"
He answers "I get to roll the dice twice and pick the better roll when it's my turn."
I reply "Deal."
I hear "Wtf?! So unfair!"
Dustin exclaims "She has 3 girls she's close with and no boyfriend. She has no best friend."
I reply "Thanks."

End of Flashback - Switch to Y/N's POV

Dustin warned me about picking him up from school today. He looked nervous telling me about it and he also didn't seem to tell me the real reason why. I noticed his shirt he was trying to hide though. It said Hellfire on it. I know what that means.

It means I have to see Eddie Munson for the first time in 2 years. A lot happened in my last 2 years of high school. Junior year was the hardest year of high school and I nearly drowned in classwork if it hadn't been for Eddie. I tried to push him away, but he didn't go away. In fact, it made him stick by my side more than before because he thought that I was sad and he wanted to cheer me up. He tried so hard to make me see the light and even would spend nights at my house to make sure that I slept. Senior year was hard during the fall and a breeze in the spring. I was so focused on college that I neglected him and didn't know until near the end of the year that he was sinking in sadness. I should be a grown-up and apologize for not talking for 2 years. It was all my fault for never reaching out. Eddie had given me a number he could be reached at and had cried when I was leaving. He obviously cared and I pushed him away. I'm the worst. When I got to college, I just didn't want to talk to anyone and I pushed people away. Sure, I made a few friends, but we've never had deep conversations. They're casual friends. I talked weekly with Dustin and my mom because they're family, but I never shared everything I was thinking.
